Hello,

My name is Larry and I am from the Seattle area and looking to inform myself on a mid range (40+- Horse) 4x tractor to maintain 8 acres. I would like a bucket, A back hoe and a grapple to replace the bucket for cleaning up brush, Stickers and downed tree's. The tractor will also be used for mowing of fields and lifting heavy objects around the place.

I have snooped a bit and this forum looks to be a great place to make a knowledgeable decision before making the purchase. Larry

Over across the water from you. Need more info to really help much. Looking at used or new? What is your budget? If you want used plan to have the cash up front as they are hard to finance and when you do you probably will balk at the interest rate. New, all the major brands have 0 down, 0% and 4-5 years. After looking at a lot of used In questionable condition and if in good condition only 10 -15% under new price; I bought a new Kubota BX25. They come standard w/FEL and BH. It is a real machine and will handle all you discussed. Probably not too good though if you want to do deep plowing in hard rocky soil. I do not need to do that so it is a UKN. Handles all 3PT implements well and a mid mount mower is available. If interested, I will introduce you to my dealer in Puyallup. They have an excellent shop reputation if you are not mechanical like I am.

With such attractive interest rates I am most likely going to buy new and would like to stay at or below 35,000, Something in the 35 to 4 0 horse would be best suited.

Thanks Ron, Larry.

Have you come to a decision Larry or are you still looking and comparing brands and tractors?
Green, orange, blue, red any decision yet?

If you are still looking I know I mentioned the Sumner green dealer but forgot to mention Brim Tractor. Sells New Holland and the Western Wash general manager is a good guy. Sales guy is a go to guy for parts for other brands as well at lower prices as they have good contacts and lower markup on parts they get that are green in source of origin.

Larry,

Larry,

I haven't seen a post on where you are on this, so just curious on your progress. I highly recommend you select a dealer close even if all you need is parts availability. Were pretty limited within 100 miles of Seattle on brand dealers. Kubota and John Deere have several dealers in the area. New Holland (Brim is way up in Mount Vernon). For you the closest are all down in the Puyallup/Sumner area. What are you doing on your 8 AC and the array of implements you might need?

Thank You all for the help and interest. I have been talking with Farm House Equipment in Napavine, Wa. (Centralia) about a Kioti DK40 SE with shuttle shift, I have sent them a credit app on Thursday hoping to hear from them soon.

The Kioti will have a FEL with a cutting edge, Backhoe, Ag tires and a additional rear remote. When I get the good news I will order a 72" Everything attachments grapple and a 3rd function valve kit.

I cannot wait to get to work lol.

Again Thanks to all for the awesome help and suggestions everyone has offered, Larry.

I have a few implements already from my dad, A post hole digger and a 6 ft brush hog. I would like a 2 or 3 bottom plow and a decent set of forks for odds and ends.

Hi Larry... another local here. Centralia seems a bit far to have to travel to your dealer IMHO but I wish you good luck on your decision.

Hello Larry,

I just thought I would chip in here. I live up in the Shelton area and I bought a DK35SE HST with loader and backhoe from Rich at Farmhouse equipment about a year ago. I have had an excellent business relationship with them, I had a couple of warranty issues early on and they were promply taken care of no questions asked and my tractor has worked flawlessly every since. If you do decide on a Kioti Rich and his son Justin are both great to deal with and I would recommend Farmhouse equipment to anyone. And in the whole grand scheme of things I don't really think Centralia is much of a trip from the Seattle area but thats just my own opinion, I don't really mind a nice drive.

Thanks for the reply Craig, I made a visit down there last week and I completely agree with you about them being great to deal with and both are stand up good people. Their price was a thousand dollars lower than the Kioti dealer in Monroe and the sales tax is far less, I figure the travel is well worth it. Thanks a bunch, Larry.
