New garage time!

I'll pressure test it for a few hours before hand after everything is laid in. And it arrived today!

Today was a bit of an administrative day. Laid the last 12x 12" blocks, built the ends and center post. Went to home depot for another 12x80lb bags of concrete, and a supply house for 15mil vapor barrier. Installed J bolts in the front mixed 12 bags of concrete. Then got the jumping jack from the rental place. I checked their website and it said it was in stock. Then I called and the lady assured me it was there. I got there and it was not there. Guy recommended me a place 45min away. I called them, they said they had it. I asked them to put their hands on it before I drive up. They did, so I went. Got back and fired it up. That thing kicks the crap out of you. There's no way around it. 2 hours on the jumping jack, then 3 wheel barrows full of stone to fix the low spots it had exposed. Drug the rake over a few times to make sure I was good.

A "plate compactor" would have been a lot easier to use than that "jumping jacK".

Jumping jack is going to give a lot better compaction then a plate compactor.

Anxious to see the layout of insulation/pex/steel. Take your time with that part and get it right.

Again, take a lot of pics before you pour. Elevated pics of some kind so you know where the PEX is.

Thanks for the updates.

Vapor barrier and insulation is in. 15mil 14' wide there's a lot of overlap in the middle and i almost have enough to have a double thickness throughout, but I figured i'm overkill already so I left it be and told my buddy he could take the rest to put down in his cabin in the mountains with a dirt floor in the basement. Staggered the insulation boards so there weren't consistent joints that might be a weak point. Started getting the rebar down, but the chairs for it don't arrive until monday. Putting on the bottom plates which is a lot of drilling and a pain, so that will take a bulk of the day.

Vapor barrier, insulation, rebar, termite guard, and bottom plate installed. The rebar chairs were coming monday but I'm canceling them and using pvc. I'm using 2" pvc and going to drill 5/8" holes every 4" and cut them every 2". It'll basically be the same thing, except it will arrive a week sooner.

You're gaining.

Can't understand not being able to get chairs locally. I only have one Lumber Yard in my County and they stock chairs.

Thanks for the update!!!

I don't understand it either. I called 6 places. All of them said they're out, 2 places said they could get some in in 7-10 days. 2 lumber yards, 2 concrete suppliers, lowes, and home depot. The people that had my 15mil vapor barrier said they were out of stock.

The chairs are behind all the toilet paper that's been hoarded....

You make me tired just watching. I hope you're a young man.
