We just bought our HPX about a year ago and for how we use it I could not justify trading for a new one. We only have 17 hours on ours and besides my wife would kill me! /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

In your case I probably wouldn't trade either. That thing isn't even broke in yet! Ours has 379 hours on it so I've gotten $1500 worth of use out of it I think.

I measured the ground clearance Tommy and they are nearly identical. The new one has about 1/2" more but that could just be due to tire pressure.

Richard, how much did they 'low you on your 6x4? Was it diesel? I have a gas 6x4 which I love for being so hardy but the surging accelerator drives me bats__t crazy. And with almost 1800 hrs, it is getting on up there.

Thanks for the posts and pics!

Jim,

They gave me $6200 for my 6x4. It was a 2004 with around 300 hours.

Thanks. My dealer offered me $3500 on my gas model (with power dump and rough body condition), back about a year ago in trade on an HPX after I had gotten the no trade price. Apparently these things sell well on the used market, even an old one like mine. Surprise.

The thing has amazing pull and traction, 'specially for an old girl. I've had some electrical problems, aggravating but simple once found.

The JD www site still does not seem to be revealing the changes made to the HPX. I did note a $900 rebate or discount on 2005 HPX models, kind of a sign.

The roll bar and seatbelts seem like a really smart move, though my wife enjoys the freedom of get in and go in our 6x4 as it sits now.

You get so tempted to jazz a new one up...windshield, cab, heat, lights, the Tim the Toolman treatment all the way [grunt grunt GRUNT].

And that green paint is popular, isn't it. Even if it is molded into the fiberglass.

Hope you'll keep us in the loop on your continuing experiences, 'Doc.
