WOW!
Just finished putting 8hr. on my bota, really knocked a hole in my property. It ripped up vines & briars like nothing. Saplings wernt much problem either, although some of the 4inchers were a little work. I even picked up and moved a 24x16x24" concrete footer that had been dug up when they dug my electrical trench (don't try this at home). Not bad for a subby.
The only cons about the bx2230 are, no tach, and the hydro pedel (I prefer the twin pedels on the JD). But I'm lovin' everything else /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif.

I spent about 5 hours at my neighbors property today clearing an area for him. I was thinking about all this conversation about toothbars a lot while I was clearing. One of the things that I worked on today was mastering "backblading" with the toothbar. The brush I was clearing was relatively easy to rip up by the roots, but what I really found effective was to completely dump my bucket and the just barely sink the teeth into the dirt and pull back all the brush I was clearing. It really made it easy to move into a pile, with minimal dirt. My neighbor kept the leaf blower going on the fire while I kept piling it on. In 5 hours, we got a lot done and the fire will probably be burning for a few days.

That is one of the reasons I want the toothbar. I've been "backblading" with just my cutting edge, and it picks up the leaves and sticks etc. just fine, but it also mounds up a lot of dirt. Can't wait to get my toothbar so I can do it the way you did. I know it will be much easier and I can leave most of my dirt in the yard! Thanks for sharing that. John
