for now I would stick with the BX
you have seat time on it that will help on some of your hills and in and around the barn
with 7 acres for pasture I would divide them into 3 or 4 smaller pastures
you can do that with just some temporary fencing (I use 1 strand 2" electric tape with the plastic or fiberglass poles) as long as you have good perimeter fencing
what I do is once horses come off a pasture (they get moved one time a week)to the next one is get in there and bush hog the weeds and overgrowth down and get you a harrow and knock the manure piles down
my harrow is dragged behind my BH (both get done at once)
this does a couple of things
it lets your pasture grasses get the sun it needs for regrowth and the weeds will stop growing due to the grasses over growing it
manure piles will burn the pasture if let in a pile but will fertilize the pastures if broken up
this lets your pastures recoup from the horses being on them
with the smaller pastures you can have the horses in one and put down fertilizer or lime without them being affected
also less time BH just 1/3 of your pastures per week
this is just what works for me and my :2cents:
