I went looking for a tractor and I got prices for three different tractors. All with a front-end loader and a Mid-Mower. I wanted to know what is the best deal?
23,100 for a 4410 John Deere w/ 430 FEL and 60 MMM
18,850 for a Kubota L 3010 w LA 482 FEL w/ 66 in bucket
14,700 for NH TC33D SS w/ hydro : $3195 for NH 7308 FEL 60 in bucket : $1925 for NH 914 60in MMM
Please help me!

Yeah, I just went through the same process. They're all good tractors, as everyone here will say: "It depends on the dealer." Me, I liked orange the best, but blue was a close second and the blue dealer was "better" in my opinion, so I went blue. Today, I'm very happy with my TC40D and I'm sure I would be just as happy with the L4340 that I wanted.

Pricing is also quite variable depending on your location, the number of competing dealers in the area, and the various incentives provided by the manufacturers. In my case, the JD Green was consistently higher by about 2K, especially when I added the two rear remotes.

Hope that helps a bit!

Hi, welcome aboard!

You seem to be looking at some fine equipment...

The Deere 4410 is higher, but then is isn't a direct match to the others. Even though it is a smaller frame size, it is closer to the TC35D. Dertainly if you are serious about the loader.

If you are after light loader use, the TC33D is a fine machine. But it is, unfortunately a little weak, the front axle seems to be the big limiting factor.

Usually the Kubotas match up like this Kubota 3130 - Deere 4310, and Kubota 3430 - Deere 4410. I even got the same price/value story from both dealers ( the 3430 is a lot more money; for a little more HP over the 3130, ditto for the 4410 vs. 4310)

The Deere 430 Loader is the step up loader, they also offer a 420 for a $500.00 savings. A Deere 4210 with a 420 loader is probably the closest match to the other two. Of course, I think the Deere 4310 with 430 is the way to go, but my point is that you want to keep apples to apples in comparisons...

Lotsa luck, I hope I was SOME help...

prairiegrass,

I think the loaders on the Orange and Green have greater lift capacity. So if you do a lot of loader work you may want to check into that. One thing I do see different is the New Holland has Super-steer. The Super-steer is about a $1500.00 add for that tractor. I have Super-steer and I like it a lot. It comes in real handy when you have a lot of mowing around objects. If you don't have a lot of objects to get around then it is not necessary and you could save yourself some money. Unless your heart is really set on the Deere I guess I would spend some more time with the Kubota and New Holland dealers to get to know them some more. Get a feel for which one you think will give you the best service. Also which tractor do you feel the most comfortable with. Both Kubota and New Holland are good tractors, and so is John Deere, but $3,000 more is lots of monies for extra implements. Also on the 33 if your property is fairly level for mowing I would check into the 72" MMM. I have the 72" on my TC29D and it handles it just fine. But the larger you go on the mower the more scalps you are apt to get.

Just some ideas

Hi,

I think I would look at the new series 3130 Kubota, rather than the old 3010. I believe the 3010 has become "last year's model" and has been replaced by the 3130.

Not sure about how the prices compare. But if I were buying new I would want either the new model or a good discount on the older one...

Like everyone says, all three colors you mentioned are good tractors...good luck and have fun!

murph makes a great point, the Boomers strength is am awesome mowing machine, with a handy FEL. Their loader is great for lots of things, just not the heaviest. Most folks will be thrilled with their loaders.

come'on, murph, he could also step up to a larger blue tractor and pay more, or look at a comparable Deere and be closer...

Thanks, henro, I thought that was an older kubota, but didn't want to mislead. Still a fine machine, but should get a fine doscount...

These are all great machines, just helps to sort out what matches...

My apoligies to all. I guess I didn't go back and check over any of the specs of the two tractors. I guess I assumed the original poster had them compared to each other. You are all right, you would pay more for either of the other two lines to compare it to the John Deere. My intention was not to bad mouth John Deere or any other product. But I would still think if you took the Super-steer out of the New Holland and upgraded to the larger tractor to compare with the John Deere you would be still less. That is just my thinking.

OK, Maybe we shouldn't flog you THIS time /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Your point on SuperSteer is a good one. My 4310 is extremely maneuverable, SS must be like TimeWarp.

FYI - Deere's actually have a slightly tighter turning radius than NH WITH SuperSteer. Here's the spec's from their websites:

Deere 4710 w/brakes: 7.9ft.
Deere 4710 w/o brakes: 9.2ft.
Deere 4410 w/brakes: 7.5ft.
Deere 4410 w/o brakes: 8.2ft.

NH TC40DSS w/brakes: 8.83ft.
NH TC40DSS w/o brakes: Not available
NH TC35DSS w/brakes: 8.83ft.
NH TC35DSS w/o brakes: Not available

They are very close in specs, but the nice thing with Deere is that you don't have to add the tight steering option. Deere actually shows the difference between the 2 brands turning radius on their promotional video.

It seems that when most people have compared comparable tractors from different manufactures, the prices are usually in the same ballpark. Unless of course you come across a dealer that for some odd reason thinks they are worth thousands more. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

butzkeg,

These specs are very misleading!

I have driven both green and blue and the supersteer turns much tighter than the JD in real world.

Now weather the option is worth the extra $$$ all depends on the individual.

Just my $.02,
