Oops there is actually 3, reviews on the above link that describe this problem. See the 2nd,3rd, and 6th reviews.

Both cases were backhoe related, one from a commercial user. This is not a defense, but may be an explanation. Does anyone know if the 757c is 3 point or undercarriage mounted?

If there is an undercarriage mount, I can't imagine something where three engines fail for the same person, unless it was intentionally misused, or installed incorrectly, but I could be wrong.

It is to bad that they(the distressed owners) don't write up what actually happened in some detail.

Here is the link to another site, where I first heard about the problem.
New Holland TC30 Review, Price, Information (see the second and third reviews)
The crack is on the right side where the engine connects to the clutch housing. There are 2 of these reports of cracking. I hope NH can address this problem, I was very close to buying a TC30. now I am turning my attention to an orange B7800 or L2800.

dennis5150:

It is obvious that you are seriously researching tractors which is a good thing. If you investigate the B7800 of L2800 tractors you may discover other/different potential concerns from Kubota owners. An abused/misused tractor will ultimately fail if operated incorrectly no matter what the color. I just break attachments . Jay

Evidently these breakages are back hoe related. This should not be an issue with a properly frame mounted backhoe. I would suggest e-mailing the last reviewer and see what he was doing that caused the tractor to break in half two times. Somethings not right here.

If anyone is still interested in this, I contacted the guy who had the problem with the TC30 engine breaking, and he gave me permission to share the email he sent to me describing the problem. He will also try to get to TBN and answer any questions any of you might have regarding this. I am still considering a TC30, because it still seems to be a solid machine regardless of this.
Here is the email:

The bolts are not backing out and breaking, the bolts themselves are never
breaking. The engine breaks about 1 inch from the bolts towards the clutch
housing. So putting lock tite on them will not help. I have had a lot of long
talks with the people at the dealership and even they admit that the New
Holland "Blue Machines" are agricultural machines that are designed to pull
loads. The backhoe digging force exerts a twisting pressure on the frame, or
Lack of frame and every time the engine seems to break atthe same spot. And
when it breaks it takes a lot more than just the engine with it, the clutch
housing and hydraulic pump etc. I believe that this IS a know problem at New
Holland but New Holland will not acknowledge it because they sell way to
many TC 30's. When I picked up my machine from the dealer with another new
engine 2 weeks ago they just got another machine in with the same issue, so
mine is definitly not an isolated issue.

This has been a huge problem for my business so I finally fixed it. I looked
at every machine out there that is the same size as the TC30. I believe that
the best one is the KUBOTA L3400 with the BH75 backhoe and Loader. When I
picked up my TC30 with the new engine I brought it directly to the Kubota
dealer and traded it in for the Kubota.

I have used the Kubota L3400 for a week now, And I can tell you there is
absolutly no comparison. The stats seem the same but the Kubota is like
using a Mercedes instead of a worn out old car.

I spent a lot of time on this so if you want you are welcome to call me....
Good Luck
Joe

Does this guy work for Kubota marketing. "New Holland "Blue Machines" are agricultural machines that are designed to pull loads." My dealer who sells both NH and Kubota will definately say differently. He has sold tons of TC30, many with backhoes and has not had problems. He also sells lots of Kubotas and the one thing he will say (as evidenced by the number of broken Kubotas castings in his yard) are that the Kubotas are lighter duty machines. I'm not saying you can't break a TC30, just saying that they are not breaking all over the place. Also the statement that the "The stats seem the same but the Kubota is like using a Mercedes instead of a worn out old car" sounds like the ranting of a bitter person.

Hi I'm new to this site but have been reading a lot and my 2006 tc30 just broke on me I have a loader on front and had a Howse 4ft tiller on back, and I broke my clutch housing. It had been broke before I bought it but someone had just welded it up and painted it up and sold it I'm sure. I found a used part at a salvage yard for less than half a new one would cost (1600). But after calling several salvage yards it does seem to be a problem for this model. I am in the process of rebuilding it and I'm going to build a support that will help support this housing better and hopefully I will get my video on here and YouTube to help others out with this issue.

I would definitely like to see what Ozmann does with his TC30. Ever since I read the first reviews of broken engine/transmission housings I have been "Nervous". Mine is a 2005 HST with about 850 hours on it right now. I DO NOT dig with my front loader but I do use it on some rather heavy bucket loads and grapple loads! When it is full, I drive slow and try to avoid any bouncing. I would like to see what type of frame might help take the load off the engine/transmission housing. Unfortunately I am out here now researching why my tractor will not turn over or make a clicking noise or anything. I will return to this post to see what Ozmann came up with. Good luck!!

Well up front where your front axle bolts to the frame (motor housing) I am going to put some support bracket that go back to just under my seat (there is two bolt holes that are threaded). I plan on using 3 inch flat iron 3/8 thick on both sides. I don't have and don't plan on having a belly mower on this tractor which this might affect that application.

ksshooter, I don't have any advice as to the broken housing, but your no start no nothing electrical issue could be the + battery terminal. I am going thru an occasional no start issue now on a farmall 40. During some testing and swearing yesterday I found the very slightly loose + connection, cleaned both + - . Power is back on, maybe this is it.
