Well, the tractor finally arrived last Thursday. I had to wait a few extra days. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif The dealer took it to the fair and someone must have walked/jumped across the hood and did some serious damage to the hood. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif It took a few extra days to get a replacement hood.
We thought it was going to be here last Wednesday but it didn't make it. My five year old son called me from the car on the way home from kindergarten (on his Mom's phone, he's spoiled but not quite that bad /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif). When I told him the tractor didn't come, he hung up on me. He wouldn't talk to me all night. For the sake of the family I called the dealer the next day to explain the hot water I was in and they assured me that they would deliver the tractor that day.
It arrived last Thursday and now everything is right with the world for my son. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif He's already come up with about 10 new ideas for the "scoop" on the tractor. I've got to figure out how to make the door into the house bigger /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif so we can use the "scoop" to bring the groceries in from mommy's car. I'll keep working on that one. We also have to use the "scoop" to get the mail, the newspaper and to take out the trash, ............. The things five year olds think of.
The ground is still a little soft around the house so we can't do any serious yard work, yet. But Kyle and I did manage to do some work on the stone driveway cleaning up some of the ruts. I think we burned about 2 gallons of fuel just running up and down the driveway for the morning, noon, afternoon, evening and bedtime tractor rides.
For those safety minded folks, Kyle already knows the first rule of the tractor is: "The seat belt goes on (both of us),before the key goes in."
I'll bring the digital camera home to snap a few pictures and post them later.
I did get a dealer hat when I signed the paperwork.
Thanks agian for all the good advice. It helped convince my wife that we were getting a fair deal.
