New Holland TC35D
Hello,

I am looking for help with my 2003 New Holland TC35D tractor. I believe I have a problem with my neutral start switch. Trying to find a good mobile mechanic to provide on site service. I live in Frankfort Illinois. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

I wish they were easy to by-pass because they are not cheap if you decide to replace and it wasn't the problem.

What are the symptoms? On my TC29d the switch is under the left fender it adjusts simply by centering it between to stops. I don't Rember exactly how I did it but if you just look at it from underneath it is easy to trouble shoot. I think if you turn the key and move it back and forth it will immediately try to start. There are many threads on this subject just do a search.🍻

I don't know anyone specifically in Frankfort, Illinois, but have you tried asking at any local tractor supply stores or farm equipment dealers? They often have a list of mechanics they recommend for on-site repairs.

Sorry for my confusion, I thought you were referring to the "Safety Start Relay" However, after re-reading your post, I now believe your issue is with the transmission range neutral switch, is this true?

As @spitter has recommended if you hold the key in the start position while moving/wiggling your range lever can you get your tractor to start?

Here is the parts diagram from Messick's. It is under the left fender. Looks like a 2 wire plug so you could unplug it and jumper it pretty easy to test it. The start safety switches shut off fuel to the engine, the engine should crank but not start. Sometimes is a simple thing. PTO must be off, parking brake set, and transmission in neutral. And as stated moving the lever slightly back and forth while turning it over may work, both for the PTO and transmission lever.

Had a neighbor run out of gas in the field while mowing. He couldn't get his JD to start. I went over to help and saw he hadn't turned the PTO off. Turned it off, started right up.

Jump it with a piece of wire. If I remember correctly all the safety switches are in series so if one is bad the whole system dosnt work.
