one of the rear final drives is leaking on my td95d & the seal needs to be replaced. the wheel & hub are off but how is the snap ring removed. can i use a pliers to take it off or does it require a special tool. also is installing the new seal straight forward or is there something i should know before taking it out.

thanks,
dennis

Never did find out about the seal but I don't think that was the problem. I resealed the hub & that took care of the leak but I have another problem. Having a hard time getting good brake pedal. I have the service manual on brakes, hydraulics etc. I've made adjustments & the left brake is much better but still goes down too far but the right brake needs to be pumped to get good pedal. I have bled the system & the brake reservoir was full to start w/so I don't think the axle seals are bad. Both pedals are the same height but after adjusting the links going to the axle the first time to the specified 190 mm & the parking brake there were no brakes, not even the park brake. I put the links back to where they were & readjusted the park brake & as I mentioned earlier have decent pedal on left side but not the right. Park brake also works. I did jack up each side of the tractor to make sure the brakes weren't dragging after adjustments. Fluid in the reservoir was a light green color which I read on other posts is what it should be but the hydraulic fluid from the New Holland dealer is clear. Service manager said the green fluid is factory & what they sell is the right fluid. Could the right discs be worn or does the right slave cylinder have a bad seal. If any brake was used more it normally is the left side. Maybe I don't have the adjustments correct. Guess I need some help.

Thanks,
Dennis

Sorry to hear that.
I can't think of anything that would help.
Maybe there is someone out there that will have the answer. Sometimes it is just a matter of keeping the thread fresh enough for that someone to read it.
I see this is only your 3rd post. Welcome to TNT

The brakes on my TD95D are spongy so I think I'll have to bleed the slave cylinder(s)r. I see no sign of a leaks so I figure that it was not bled at the factory. I don't have many hours on mine ( ~400) to have that much wear on the discs. Sounds like you bled yours with no effect.

I looked at our TD95D brakes today since I was changing the engine oil and filter as well as greasing the front end. I can barely see the left side cylinder and I would have to drop the fuel tank to work on the left side of the braking system and adjust the clutch pedal. What a design! As near as I could tell there did not appear to be a bleeder screw on the left side slave cylinder but there must be a way to bleed it. Maybe I just could not feel it because of the clearance issues
