Did you get an estimate yet on your machine?

I bought a new TN70D with a 32LA loader and a Cab in 2000. I still have the tractor with about 1900 hours on it. While I bought it for use around the jobsite, after about 5 years I found that a skid steer worked better for the type of jobs that I did (more maneuverable). I have mostly used the tractor for mowing, some loader work (the 32LA loader is self leveling and my pallet forks have side shift. This was a requirement for the type of work I was doing on the jobsite) and some custom plowing and planting. I also use it for some box blade work. This has been an excellent tractor. I had a couple of smaller ones before this like a WD45 and a Ford 2000.

The tractor has required very little repair over the years other than normal maintenance. I have had an ongoing issue with a clutch sensor that the dealer was never able to fix. It doesn't seem to affect the operation of the tractor and it's been an issue for the life of the tractor so I quit worrying about it years ago. The Titan tires that came on it lasted for 15 years (front) and 18 years (rears) so I am putting new tires on it now. I bought some DeeStone tires for the front 3 years ago because they were cheap and I needed some tires right away. They did not last long. I am replacing all 4 tires with Titans. And I have vowed to quit mowing mesquite pastures ( I have a skid loader with foamed tires and a front mounted rotary mower for that type of work).

The cab is nice. It is tight and doesn't leak. It is pretty loud inside. I usually wear a headset that is bluetooth connected to my phone when running it for long periods of time.

All in all, I have been very happy with my TN70D. Even after 18 years it is still serving me well.

What's the difference between your TN70D and "DA" ?

TSO,
while mine is an open station, I can speak to the soundness of the TN series. I bought my TN70A new in 2008. It is a 2007 model, and I understand that was the last year they were built. NH replaced them with the T4000 series. The T4030 would give you exactly the same tractor, with 6 more HP, a different model number on the side of the hood and about $8000 more on the price tag!!!
Mine has close to 1000 hrs on it. The only repairs have been: replacing the rockshaft seal and bushing on the right side of the 3PH, (from using a hay mower); replacing the rubber valve stem on all 4 wheels; replaced the fuel cap (the original split); and the hour meter quit a couple years ago. (it would require replacing the entire instrument cluster to fix) That's it. It's never been back to the dealer. The tractor really operates very smoothly. It has a tight turning radius and a synchronized transmission. The IVECO 3-cylinder engine is great, and really fuel efficient. Even though I have 3 cab tractors (JD), I still use the TN70A to stack hay in the barn. It's a bit smaller and easier to maneuver inside the barn.

In 2010, when I was shopping for my first cab tractor, I was really happy with the NH, but didn't buy blue again because of the comfort of the JD cab. I'm a big guy: over 6' tall and 250#. The NH cab felt small compared to the JD. But that's just a personal preference.

Not sure but I think the DA version has super steer. Has a tighter turning radius

Ok, did a little more research on Tractordata.com. Found out that the TNxx series was made from 2000 - 2003. The TNxxA was made from 2004 - 2008. An S in the model number designates Super Steer and a "D" in the model number designates a cabbed tractor.

If you get a supersteer model be aware that they are very sensitive to steering input, especially at speed on the road. SMALL corrections is the name of the game.
There is a knack in driving these tractors, but if you need high manuverability they are very good.

Good to know guys - thanks for all the replies. Sounds like it would be a good machine for my needs.

My main concern would be parts availability and pricing. Do you guys know of a good source for parts (besides the dealer)? I say that because I like to do work myself and I also find dealer pricing very expensive.

I haven't needed many parts for my tractor over the years but those that I have needed the my dealer was able to get without much trouble.

Also, Messicks seems to have parts for it. I have never bought anything from them but I have used their online parts catalog on occasion.

I had forgotten but I did have to replace the turbo a few years ago. I got the new one from the dealer. seems like it was about $900.00. I installed it myself.
