New Holland to switch to Korean manufacturer?

The upper scale LS tractors are excellent. Not sure about the loaders that each company is using though. The only loaders that I have seen were the Montana ones, and I did not care for them. Good specs, but old style wrap around support frame instead of a sub-frame.

man. we don't know where anything is actually "from" anymore. The only thing I don't understand is why the big dogs can't see the simple fact that if all the manufacturing jobs keep leaving, there will be no one here that can buy their cheaper products. I may be missing something but it doesn't seem like rocket science to me. We are slowly but steadily selling America.:mad:

Appreciate the sentiments, but don't see how it applies to New Holland, owned by Fiat of Italy, changing it's plan to re-brand tractors from Japan to Korea.

Im sure New Holland will be looking like a LS tractor. I have seen pictures of a dark blue LS New Holland tractor. From what I have seen, there are not many of them around yet. LS makes a fine tractor.

In the Korean news release, they stated that LS had orders for 2,500 tractors from New Holland. It sounds to me like NH wants to "test the water" before taking the full dive. If they move well, I'm sure NH will order/sell more.

my local NH added Kioti last fall. They now stock more orange than blue. There prices are high though. Bobcat is a mile down the road from them.

I was going to trade in my Montana 4940c for a Kioti DK55 cab last summer. Once the dealer told me the numbers, it was a no go. Kioti was very high in their price book.

didn't just mean new holland tractors or even tractors, just the trend with everything. furniture, auto's, clothes, etc... and yes I know what the title of the original post is.

Texas Green;
That is the trouble with buying a Montana or similar brand. When you go to update many dealers don't want to trade or give you anything for it. With JD , NH, ect one can have a new one every five years for minimal trade difference. Most of the time they never make it to the dealership. The owner tells the neighbor he is buying new and someone comes out of the woodwork with cash. Moral of the story... buy something with service and a local dealer with a good rep.

IMO we all have to look in the mirror on this one, or at least the people around us. We have become a nation that values price over jobs and quality. Walmart in the early 90's had a made in the USA drive that a lot of the stuff in the stores had 2 options, made here, or made were ever. It didn't last due to people put price 1st. In the end the "Big dogs" are giving people what they want.

Also try and open a factory here in the states. I was part of a team that my employer had look into expansion in several states. In the end the EPA had so many hoops to jump through there was no way to pay for it, throw in a decent wage and we could not compete. It would also have taken years to get the approvals. We even got our 1 plant below our emissions cap with the thought of expanding it. The EPA lowered our cap to where we were currently at. Better yet try and enforce a copy write or patent when the product comes from China. All they do is change the company name and in a few days they start right in selling your product. Depending on your process some products are easier to open a plant, but it gets harder every day.

Here is some food for thought, I read the enviro impact study to build an oil refinery is 200 million, and a new nuclear plant $1 billion. That just paper and permits before any ground is broke. Throw in a few lawsuits by enviro groups and the costs add up quickly.
