If you put a Shibaura made NH compact tractor next to a newer LS made NH compact tractor, you will see a quality/refinement difference. The Shibaura made tractor is a nicer tractor.

I have a 2009 1520 4WD FEL. It seems to be bulletproof!!! Just the right size with 35 HP you can find ways to use it everyday.

Anything made in japan will be of a finer refinment over somthing made in korea/china/taiwan. It just a fact of the matter.

However, I only put 28 hrs on my new holland and it is great in every way. Maint I beleive will be the key, A lot of tractor owner neglect them royally.

The engine / tranny is all I care about. The rest I can work on. If the core of it stays reliable, then I can work on the rest as needed.

With dealers, please keep in mind the mechanics get used to working on shibura models, and when LS enters their shop they scratch their head to something new. This could be why they complain about the LS.

My NH dealer was so unimpressed that they won't even order any of the LS models and they have sold NH/Ford for over 50 years. Only the larger lines, and the Workmasters are in inventory. The rest of the line was filled by Kubota.

I have a 2003 TN75 with 2500+ hours that I purchased a couple years ago. It's been in the shop once in it's life for maintenance other than scheduled maintenance and that was the clutch at 2400 hours. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase a used NH if there was a good dealer in the area and the machine was taken care of.
