Any tubing in the slab to run heat through? Nothing like a warm floor on a cold day.

No, we didn't. We were going to, but talking with our HVAC folks, they said that using a dual zone system with our geothermal system is actually more efficient. Plus, it cost about $5k less and let's us zone my home office in the basement (I work from home), our sun room, our basement, and our master bedroom all separate from the rest of the main level for less up-front cost and more efficiency in the long run.

Thats a heck of a lot of set-up for the slab. I take it they will be doing a 6"or 12" grid of rebar?

I'm not sure for the suspended floors. I believe it was 2' for the basement floor.

Here are some pics of the suspended floor after the plywood is down. It's been raining pretty much all week, so progress is at a standstill for now.

Concrete is poured and the back wall is up in the basement. Floor trusses are supposed to be delivered today. We should REALLY start to see some progress now!





With the help of my neighbor and father, I spent the last 4 days digging and back filling a 1600' trench to bury the electric cable in. Needless to say, I was glad to get back to work today!

2 car garage up and 2 down, with the area under the upstairs garage to be used as a future wood working shop.

It depends on how deep I get into it. I enjoy it as a hobby, but just don't have much time now with 3 little ones plus work plus everything else. As the kids get bigger and I get a bit more free time, I plan to get back into it. I did make sure we could squeeze a window in that section so that I could at least get some ventilation in there, and if I really get into it, adding a dust collection system should be fairly easy.
