Here's looking in to the food pantry showing the shelving our trim guys built.

This pantry was originally supposed to be twice as wide as it ended up. We decided to borrow some of this space to provide more room in the kitchen for counter space and cabinets. Therefore, this pantry ended up kind of narrow. I think it will be adequate for our needs.

We had a little miscommunication with the plumbers. We took the antique wash stand out to the house the other night so the plumbers could mark where the holes need to be for the sink and faucet. We were supposed to have a chance to approve this before the holes were cut and then have a chance to place a water-resistant finish on the surface - all before the sink and fixture were placed. We found out today that the plumbers installed the sink and fixture without our input. My wife really wanted the faucet on the right side of the bowl - but I don't see any real problem with it on the left. However, I am going to have to have everything removed so I can finish the top surface and then have it reinstalled.

Also, you may be able to see the drawer of the washstand leaning against the furniture. We'll have to cut the drawer off to accomodate the plumbing and just fix the drawer front to the cabinet.

I'm attaching 2 pictures, 1 without using the flash, the other with the flash. I figure between two pictures, you might be able to tell what this thing is going to look like.

BTW, the sink is copper and the faucet is oil-rubbed bronze.

Here's standing at the top of the stairs looking down the hallway. My daughter's room is the first room on the left (you can see the pink "glow"), my son's room is the first door on the right. The second opening on the left is the laundry room and across the hall from that is a closet to hang clothes as they come out of the dryer. The door at the end of the hall is to the unfinished "attic".

Directly behind me is the guest bedroom.

The hall floor is wood and all bedrooms will have carpet.

Would it be possible to just shorten the drawer and add stops?

Everything is pulling together real nice. The tilework behind the kitchen sink is a nice added touch too.

How come on TV, they can rip a house out and install a new one in less than 7 days, but in reality it takes several months /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I mentioned that option to my wife. As this is just a powder room, she said she sees no real need for a drawer. I may do that anyway. You can't have too many drawers.

I've asked my builder that on more than one occassion. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thanks for the kind remarks.

Really coming together nicely now, when's the move in date?

I'll be doing an upstairs laundry room too, and I know you have the pan under the washer, but if a hose bursts or the thing overflows, will that pan contain the water?

I've had a washing machine hose burst before, and it only takes a couple of minutes to make one **** of a mess. I think I'll invest in one of those auto shut off devices.........

Mornin' Dave. I hope we never have to find out if our "system" will contain water from a busted hose. But, there is a floor drain that receives the pipe from the pan and I think (now I'm going to have to go and check on this) will also drain water from the floor. We talked about having a threshold in the tile to keep water off the wood floors and I just can't recall for sure if it was installed.

I love the questions you folks ask as it makes me go back and double check on things that were supposed to have been done or need to be done before we take possession.

We don't have a move-in date yet but we are planning to move sometime in March. We're definately on the home stretch.
