Brief background:
We bought our land to work towards retirement about 3 years ago. The plan was pay cash for land and build our house with cash for debt free retirement and have more money to save for retirement.

The land had an old mobile home on it that we rehabbed to make it livable. This past winter we sold our much too large suburban home and moved to the "trailer".

It took some time but we have finally started on the house. It will be single story, 1600 sq ft, 2 BR ranch.

Very happy day. Footers formed:

It took a while to get dry enough weather to pour the footers:

Then walls:

And we have a foundation:

Thanks.

I'll post more as we go but it'll be slow. I'm building it myself.

I've got to finish electric so I can get power instead of the noisy genny and have to finish the shed to store the tools. Then I can start installing sill plates and floor trusses.

looks like a pretty place......you'll have to show more views of the property!.......like the height of the crawl space.......hate having to crawl on your belly to do anything......and there always seems to be something to do in there....lol......Jack

Thank you all.

Yes, Jack, crawlspace is tall. Taller than I wanted but the slope dictated that. Back of house is 4' and front is 5' to 6'.
