New JD 1000 Series Cab

Don't hold your breath on getting anything more than a standard form letter response that essentially says nothing in regards to your question.

Yeah im not holding my breath. Deere really is out of touch considering the age we live in. They really try to corral everything through your local dealer.... but sometimes the dealer doesn't know nor care to get you an answer... Usually corporate cares a bit more.

IF i get an answer, ill post it here.

It looks like the Kubota ad is from France based on the wording. Also I see the HP maxes out at 18; so I'm guessing whether a ROPS is required or not is based on HP and machine weight.

I'm guessing the southern and eastern European countries would be the most lenient, while the northern and western countries would have the most stringent ROPS regulations. Where France falls on that guess list is anyone's SWAG.

Yes that particular ad is from france. Only because the French website has the actual brochures for download.

The UK has the same models, and they dont have ROPS either. ROPS isnt standard until the B2420. The B1220, B1620 and B1820 dont come with ROPS as standard. Kubota (U.K.) Limited - B20 Series

There is definitely a EC loophole here. No ROPS required until 24 hp? Or maybe its weight based?

I think the difference is, RULES AND REGULATIONS. Standards have been set and Tractor Manufactures have to meet the standards or they are not allowed to sell a product. Rules and regulations enforcing consumer rights are strictly enforced. In the US the prevailing thought seems to be, NO RULES OR REGULATIONS, the manufacture will do what is right. Try to sell a tractor in Europe without ROP's or does not meet a certain height standard.

I can't imagine it's a conspiracy not to sell the cabs in the USA. I am sure if John Deere was able to they would be glad to have something else to sell for profit in the USA.

You'll probably never see it here. As mentioned europe gets cabs on alot of sub compacts, not just the deeres.

Here's Kubota's BX factory cab in europe

Anyone know are these cabs manufactured locally in Europe? What prevents a US dealer from ordering one through the Kubota parts distribution?
Any Kubota dealers out there willing to look into this?

I imagine its a European or Japanese manufacturer, maybe Kubota themselves. Hopefully somebody in the know will come here and clarify. Perhaps a dedicated thread in the Kubota section would get more attention?

I remember wanting to put daytime running lights on my 94 F150 back when. Canadian Ford trucks had them , US didn't. The wiring harnesses were all the same, all you needed was the module. The module/part number didn't show in the computer at the dealership. That was the hard part. Once we learned the Ford part number, my local dealership was able to order it in through his normal parts channel, no problem.

Kubota brings in plenty of parts from Japan to the US. I can't believe that wherever these cabs are, that they cannot be shipped into the US if only we knew the elusive part or kit number.

The only thing i can see gumming up the works would be if a ROPS modification was required to mount the cab. Being a safety issue i cant see Kubota bringing anything not certified (or anything that modifies current certification) into the US officially. It would be a liability nightmare.

If somebody has access to a European parts book than finding a PN would be no problem. Even an email to a european based dealer might work. Then try to xref with a NA dealer.
