Killer, I'm using the same fuel amount as you. I don't doubt that the turbo 3000's use more fuel but NMU's number seem high. I also have the black soot on the loader arms.

Hmmm, I need to check out what my fuel consumption actually is too. I just keep forgetting to do that. I also am thinking about filling my 30 gallon drum with Diesel fuel and start using it. I bought it about 2 year ago and just never filled it up since I put it into the garage.

Looking at your signature, you don't have any PTO equipment. Might that be the difference? My tractor is used only to take care of 20 acres of tree farm and 10 acres of alfalfa and wildlife cover.

I guess what I use might be working the tractor harder?

Nmu, you have a good point there. Another reason could be the engine size. The 3320 has the largest engine if I'm not mistaken. I use mine mostly for loader and backhoe work. So I'm usually running 1500 rpms or lower with the hoe. So that maybe the reason for the low consumptions.

:D Mine runs at 2200 to WOT almost all the time. My tiller is probably the hardest on the tractor as I can very easily bring the rpms down to 2,000 by going a little to fast. The rotary cutter in most situations is pretty hard on the tractor since I am cutting thick stuff. The MX series has some heavy blades and that also does not help.

I think we figured out the difference in fuel consumption.;)

I'm glad that you guys have the fuel consumption figured out. :)

I'm having Rimguard put in my tires for ballast for the fel. Messing with a ballast box seems like too much of a pain to me. Are you happy with the stability (or feeling of stability) while using you fel's on the 3x20 series of tractors? Still thinking of getting a tiltmeter just the same.

The RimGuard is a good idea, but it is probably NOT enough ballast to offset the capacity of the loader. If if get an I-Match QH then mounting/dismounting a ballast box is completely effortless-you don't even need to leave the seat:D

I agree with Kenny. I have the 72" bucket and the ballast box out back off the I match is perfect. I dont think I would bother with a tilt metor as I think the seat of the pants feeling would stop you before the tilt meter would tell you its going to tip. I feel very stabil in this tractor and the only thing i watch out for are high spots that I would back over when moving dirt. If you hit a large mound of dirt with one rear tire while backing up, it could hurt... So I try not to leave them when I am moving dirt.. but...

Sorry to hi jack your thread earlier.

I have a toothbar coming with this. Out of curiousity, have you guys ever dug out stumps with the fel and toothbar?

Burt, the others are 100% correct you need the ballast box in addition to the rim guard. You loader manual will confirm that.
