Nice picture out in the field!!

You all sure have to put a lot of things on a tractor..... So it's legal for the highway.

I'm glad your enjoying your tractor:D

Today, the poor weather preventing any real action on the grounds, I started filling the ballast box so that I can use the FEL for something more serious like tree stumps or dirt. Incluted 2 PVC tubes to carry tools around, as seen on the forum.

The old Massey (one of the two I traded in) was just as good or even better, but 49 years old. I spent a lot of time and effort to keep her running and she had her moods. Here are pictures of her arrival last July. Hopefully the new one will be more reliable.

With the sunshine yesterday, I was able to finish filling the ballast box with a mixture of sand and cement (mortar). I tried it out this morning, it sure makes a difference. Working with the FEL is a pleasure. I was able to lift big old tree-stumps I hadn't been able to move with the Masseys, and retaining perfect steering under load. Great !

That's a nice old Massey.

Your ballast box turned out nice... The mortar really came out nice & smooth.

Great job & thanks for more pictures:D

Ballast box looks great, well done. I bet it makes the tractor a whole bunch more stable when using the FEL. Do you know the manufacturer and maybe the part number for the rear view mirrors installed on your new ride?

I'm sorry but I cannot give you any precise information about the mirrors. They appear on the pictures of the owner's manual but not a word (or part number) about them. I inspected them thoroughly but there is no indication of a manufacturer. Only the number 02*14076 if that can be any help.

Spent some time today clearing trees overgrown with ivy, cutting off dead branches and making the way clear for the tractor under the trees, carrying everything to the burn pile.
A grapple like those I can see on TBN would have been very convenient but I haven't found one yet in this country. Only small devices that bolt on the FEL bucket.
BTW I have a question: what do you people tie your ropes or chains to when you want to use the FEL to pull on something? The bucket or ends of FEL arms seem to be rather flimsy. The only solid tube is used to run the hydraulic hoses. I've seen several members welded hooks on the bucket, but I'm a poor welder, and anyway is the ordinary bucket strong enough for that?

Hooks welded or even bolted to the top of the bucket inline with the curl cylinders are the best solution. Adding a 3/8" plate for reinforcement is also a good idea. Maybe you could take your bucket somewhere to have the welded on-or it's good practice if you have the equipment.
