Almost all of the 4000's come with the power reverser standard. Ehydro is an option for everyone besides the 4720.

But I do agree it's probably for ac.

You can get a power reverser in a 4000 series cab cut??

Picture of the cooler is on Page 3. Thats what I thought, there is no oil lines going to it, & definately has nothing to do with the air conditioning. My farmer cousin looked at it, and as soon as he saw it he said it was an intercooler.Maybe they just started this on the '11 models? Maybe somebody will have some more input. Is it on all 4000 models now?

As far as I know, you cannot get power reverser with a cab. I was thinking after you go to build your own, the e-hydro is the standard transmission for the cab. Unless they plan on changing it in the future.

I don't think the cab requires an eHydro but go to that link (of the 4520), look at the specs tab and the standard transmission is a Power Reverser. I guess maybe if you have a cab that can change things but I don't think so.

Must be ehydro w/cab

The build your own will not allow PR with a cab.

Oh, didn't even think to do that! Guess you have to get the eHydro with the cab:confused3:

I have no idea what that thing could be doesn't look like an inter cooler or ac unit i've ever seen before!

I built a 3720 before we bought our MF, and that was a turn off for me, did not want another hydro this time around.

I'm going to see if I can find where the other line goes to.

Here it is. I followed the lines & one of the looks like it goes to the intake & the other line I cannot tell. It is behind the turbo. What do you think? View attachment 239283
Looks like an intercooler to me too. Hose clamps won't hold AC pressure, and piping looks too big for oil cooler.

Personally like the hydro, lot more control over the tractor although I do have to say my power reverser delivers a lot more power. I get hydro on compacts as they are for small areas and I need control and power reverser for utility as I need them for power. I wouldn't get a compact without a hydro

I just looked it up on John Deere parts breakdown, it is indeed an intercooler.

Charge Air Cooler

LVA151199 - Intercooler

John Deere - Parts Catalog

4320 does not have an intercooler. So that would help explain the price difference between the models as well.
