I took care of the leg rattle by using heavy duty zip ties to secure the legs on the FEL.
I must be deaf, I don't notice the stands rattling.

Yes, you can tweak the ends if you don't bolt or weld....ask me how I know:banghead:
Mine is all better, but it will take some grinding if I ever want to take it off or reverse it.
'Not sure if we are discussing the same bucket edge. On my bucket, I have planned on a bolt-on bar with bucket teeth for the bottom of the bucket. I suspect that a straight edge is also available. The welded angle iron, that I discussed earlier, is for the top of the bucket. To this steel, three chain hooks will be welded. As I checked out dealerships and observed used tractors in the lots, I saw a good number of buckets that were bent on top. I assume that when the FEL is used to lift heavy items, secured by a chain around the bucket, that the bucket can bend. My guess is that this can be from poor placement of the chains or weight shifting during carry such that it is not sufficiently distributed away from the center of the bucket; i.e., too much weight on a chain hanging from the center. I plan to be careful in how I use chains, if I do use them. However, the steel for added bucket strength can't hurt, I figure.

Something like this, but probably with std weld on hooks. My tractor can pick up over 4000lbs and is still as straight as day 1. 3/8" angle does some amazing things.![]()
Beautiful. Perfect. Thanks for sharing the experience of having used this arrangement and for the photo. I hadn't thought about having hooks across the top; good idea, better than just three.
That is a 78" wide bucket, you can pretty much rig the chains to pick up and hold any configuration. I have 4 on my 60" bucket. I put 3/8 stiffeners on the edges also.
PS: Nice workshop and beautiful looking vehicle. I have an '88 F 450 dump truck in nice shape for having handled lots of manure, gravel and trash. Your Ford looks to be in showroom condition. Do you show it?
