Yanmar is one of the few brands I would consider in lieu of a mainstream (US based) machine. I prefer Kubota for multiple reasons, including service / parts availability. I have 4 large dealers within 50 miles.
Anyway, even with my Kubota brand preference, I would be hesitant to buy the first model year of any product line. FYI, search YouTube for Wranglestar for some Yanmar tractor videos that may interest you. Apparently Yanmar provided the machine for a few years (2?) with little or no conditions. The channel owner seems pretty honest is his opinions about the tractor.
I will conclude by saying I have been very satisfied with the Kubota tractors I have owned, and the 60 series tractors have some very useful control features. Good luck, with whatever you decide upon...

Those Yanmar units look pretty fancy... If i had a dealer near me, is be interested in playing with one. I'd you've got a good dealer near you that is stable, and can/will handle potential growing pains or warranty repairs... I'd say it's worth a shot if you really like the tractor.

Another consideration tho, will be potential resale values. There are very few "new" Yanmar machines around. Add that to the current saturation of multiple "lower priced" tractor brands that are building their name... I'm not certain that Yanmar will have alot of room for growth, even if their new product is fantastic. That could lead to a hit on resale later.

If you've got a Massey, Kioti, Deere or LS dealer near you... I'd highly recommend also checking out a Massey 1758, Kioti NX6010, JD 4066r, LS XR4155.

The auto hitch looks nice and easy but seems like i read on here where they were having a bunch of issues with it.

From what I read, the "issues" were that it costs a lot. A manual connect version, "K1 Manual Hitch", using the same implements, was introduced to bring down the cost. Both are on the "Build My Kubota" menu, manual at $2,000; auto is $ 8,000.

Kubota has offered front implement setups for quite a while, although the older ones were mostly on something like an M6800. You'll sometimes see cab model Kubbies with front brooms on highway projects, for example.

From the Wholegoods price list (Jan 2016) here are the following costs for the various hitches:

L4455A K1 Manual Hitch (w/o driveline) $2,000
L4554A K3 Auto Hitch (Includes driveline) $7,995

Besides the above, they also suggest the Ground Pressure Relief System is used.
L4456 GPR-Ground Pressure Relief System $1,778
L4449 GPR Hose Kit and Control Box (needed when L4456 on L4455A Manual Hitch) $399

Does anyone know what GPR does or how the operator benefits from having it?

Yep. He gets the tractor for free for two years. So he is a bit biased.

I have sat in the tractors like this and they are nice. They have some sort of new hydro trans. It's a gamble since they are new.

I thought the very same thing when I bought my LS tractor. All the basic hesitancy boxes were checked.
Because my dealer was local I bought local. Besides, it's assembled here in the southeast US.
My tractor hasn't seen the dealer in three years.

It's just way too much hassle to trailer it there and wait in line behind everyone else. General wait time for ANY dealer is 2 weeks for an assessment, out of season, and even longer in season. For oil & filter changes I much prefer to do my own. Provided that they provide the product, of course. Anything major, of course, they're there to back up the manufacturer's warranty.

For the most part, we decided on LS for the savings. Overall, the price variance from LS to Deere, Kubota, Kioti, Yanmar, YTM, New Holland or Massey was $5K - $10K. I spent the difference in implements and accessories. (3rd function valve and the like).
A tractor is a very versatile machine but you have to have the implements to make it versatile.

The new Yanmars are nice but too new to know track record. The Kubota's are nice machines. If you are concerned about the Kubota getting old wait awhile and see if a new model comes out soon.

What are you doing with the tractor? I think the grand l cabs are crazy expensive for their size. You could buy a big cabbed John Deere for that kind of money.

Just had to step in here but the yanmar tractors gave JD the reputation that they do have and many owners have stated they liked the reliability of the old ones better then the new. As far as the cab on a grand L Kubota vs the JD cabs there is a good difference in the price in the Kubota's favor!!!!! Best part is they have nearly identical features!!!

I'm more of a Kubota guy than John Deere. Just my preference.
I don't have a good LS dealer near me.
The only good dealer near me is Kubota.
None of the Korean dealers seam to last in my neck of the woods here in Idaho.
