New Kubota L3800 Owner

How's that 3800 treating you? Mine is being delivered Monday. Question, have you experienced the jerky hitch at all? I am wondering if this used to be a problem with the l3200's l3800's and similar models but is an issue that is not being seen on the latest produced models. Just curious as I did not check this out at the dealer, but plan to check it out tomorrow. Thx

My L3200 bought new Fall 2013 has a jerky hitch. Annoying but liveable, even doing a lot of box/back blading. Its been a long ongoing issue that I will be fixed until the Tier 4 replacements due out soon, if then.

My 3800 is treating me great, I use it for my business mostly and it has done everything I have asked of it. Just over 100 hours now and runs like a champ. I have experienced the jerky hitch a couple of times, it does not happen all the time, it depends on the RPM's and how fast you are pulling up and down on the lever, mostly it is smooth and has not bothered me.

Mines not very jerky. Just a little when the leaver is raised Very Slowly.

I believe most or all of the jerky hitches fall into a specific scenario. When you try to do fine adjustments up, you get the jerky hitch. I've never heard of the problem lowering the hitch or when doing large movements of the 3pt lever. Some fixes or adjustments have created other issues where using other hydraulics in the power beyond loop causes the hitch to drop, but those are much less common & result from the adjustments making hydraulic flow/pressure hold up the 3pt hitch due to the 3pt valve being left cracked open a hair or something, rather than it being shut properly & containing the oil in the cylinders.

Ya I just bought a brand new one to day . It's a little jerky but I can live with it . I read all about it so knew it before buying . But I wanted the L3800 and want a Kubota .

Hi Fordman, Good luck with your new L3800. I just got an L3200. I have a whole 5 hours on it so far. The 3pt. is jittery. I probably could live with it, but I'm having a hard time living with the fact that I bought an new tractor, paid top dollar, got a new tractor warranty, and I have this so called unfixable problem.
If I try to resell the tractor in a few years, I know I'll have a hard time with this problem. It just doesn't seem right.
