New Kubota L4701 Top Link too Short? Or just me?

I would think he would have to have hit a rock dead center to get such even bending between sides. Or two rocks at the same position and strike time on each side. Just seems odd to me the bends are so perfect. Too many unknowns.

I agree. :)

You will need to either replace or straighten those two bent braces. Once you have them the way they should be it would be a good idea to fabricate a trapezoid shaped plate to weld between them to keep this from happening again.

I love a mystery. Wonder if we will ever get to see the "last page"...........

Beginning to wonder myself. Would certainly like some closure.

If I was new to tractors and got the setup the OP has based on dealer recommendations, then I'd make them make it right.

If it was just a case of not knowing what to get, and the OP got a BB too small.....live and learn. Nothing to be ashamed of. Fix the BB and get a bigger one.

But either way....we would all like to know.

ovrszd - no, but now I'll look for it.

Its been said before but bears repeating - how in the world could any type of collision, damage those two braces so exactly evenly.

LD1 - I've got a couple implements that are too small. No damage - they are simply too small to do the job. One - in particular - kind of frosts my arse - my Land Pride disc harrow. 48" wide and weighs 420#. Might do a good job on a field of chocolate pudding. Otherwise - you can't even see where you have been unless the discs are razor sharp and leave scratch marks. When I say "virgin unbroken land" - I'm not kidding.

An undersized disc is unlikely to be damaged but using on a big tractor. It's limited in it's bite by how heavy it is.

Now if you take that disc and add 600 pounds to it....then yea you would probably pretzle the frame.

A box blade is different, snag something that "should" stop the appropriate size machine, but have too much tractor pulling it....something has got to give

Yep. When I have my scarifiers down and pulling with the Kubota I'm at an idle with my foot resting on the clutch pedal.

Not if pallets are the cause of the bends. You hit one of those and all bets are off. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

If OP bent them with this tractor, he wouldn’t have been able to unpin it from the 3pt. The back of the BB would have been several inches off the ground when he disconnected it.
The way I read the OP, it is a brand new BB, which would mean it was damaged in shipping. I wonder if a careless forklift driver set something heavy on it or ran it into something.
