After looking at the new 2006 M series and Bx series models from Kubota (look very nice) the others are starting to look pretty dated. Anyone hear any rumors about when some of the other models will get a refreshened look such as the grand L30 series? Just curious.

Thanks
Aaron

Kubota seems to be doing a 5 to 6 year run on their B and L series tractor. I wouldn't expect a change in the Grande L series for at least another year or two. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

My local Kubota dealer showed me a pre-release brochure for the M series. The styling looks similar to the wrap around headlights and sloped hood of the B3030 and the new BX. I assume that this type of styling is probably a trend that will eventually show up on most of Kubota's tractors. I am not sure how long the current version of the Grand L30 has been available. Does anyone on TBN know when the current version of the Grand L30 series went into production? Jim.

Strange, isn't it. They used to make the lawn tractors look like big tractors. Now it's the other way around. Not sure I like the idea of shelling out tens of thousands for a tractor and having it look like an overgrown Murray. It's not like air resistance is an issue with these things.

John Deere and MF seem to be bucking this trend.

My $.02

Eight months ago (approximately) when the B3030 cab model appeared on kubota's web site, i posted here (tbn) that the tractor looked like they put an l series cab on a B series tractor. A couple of months later i stopped at a dealer and looked at one, and i thought hey, this cab is nice. A couple of months later i took a little test run in one and was very impressed. Four weeks ago i purchased one w/ 403 fel & 2782 snowblower. I guess what i'm getting at is opinions change even for a stubborn sob like myself!

You are right about that.

I got a new M9 about a month ago. Had to order it. The M9 is being replaced by the M95 with the sloped hood. If I wanted a sloped hood I would have bought a TN 90.

I like the square hood. I use it to get my rows straight. The hood ornament is like an arrow pointing to the other side of the field.

I got the M95 engine though. Seems as though the M9 engine wasn't available.

I'm not just talking about the sloped hood though. The overall ergonomics just look alot better on the newer styles machines. They look like they would be more comfortable using. I've looked at the Jd 3320 and overall I would say it is quite a bit more ergomically designed than the current grand L series that they mainly compete against. Would like to see Kubota one up them myself.

I recently bought a Case DX35. It is the fourth tractor I have purchased in my lifetime. I always thought a Kubota L series tractor would be my next purchase, but they just weren't that comfortable. When you spend any time on a tractor, especially as you get older, ergonomics become much more important. I think the Case-New Hollands have it all over the Kubotas in this area. If they redesign the L series and seriously pay attention to ergonomics I will be tempted to switch.

Well, that said, I have to say the comfort level of my M9 is as good as my car. I have an air ride swivel seat with armrests, tilt wheel, excellent climate control, heat and cooling, abundant soundproofing, am-fm-cd-weatherband radio with speakers mounted right next to each ear all the controls are in easy reach and the cabin glass (tinted and defrosted electrically) has no blind spots whatsoever. I can even look out the back and directly down when hitching an implement...it is all glass right to the 3 point.

My climate control vents are all overhead like my previous L5030 was. I see that Kubota is now placing air outlets in the dash right above your knees. Not a bad idea though I have never had a problem with the overhead units.

In retrospect, my L5030's cab was a little tight for my 6'2" frame. The FEL joystick was ridgid mounted to the right inside fenderwell and made the right door about useless. The M9 on the other hand has a wider cab and the joystick swivels out of the way so the right door can be used.

I tend to spend considerable time in the tractor when farming. I pack my lunch and eat in the field or when I am in the field after my day job, I am out there until after dark. Comfort is a prime concern for me and my Kubota's have never let me down in that respect......I'm on my 8th one.

At 45K I do expect some comfort and attention to detail.
