New Kubota prices, WOW

Just priced a new Kubota B26 and it has jumped quite a bit. It was $42,500 plus $1,500 for Kubota insurance, plus tax $3,630 comes to $47,630. Even if you take the $1000 off that the dealer allows you, your still at $46,630. That's a big jump from the $41,000 that they were asking last year.

I don't get it, the value of my house has just about cut in half. Salaries, if you can even find a job, have dropped. The economy as a whole is in horrible shape, but tractors continue to rise. I just do not understand.

The price increase was predicted and discussed on TBN.

New EPA regulations have also caused a significant jump in prices.

Yep I sure noticed that when we recently bought our L5740; paid close to the price of our M8540 two or three years ago.

Yeah, the Fed prints more money and people just don't seem to care. They say who cares. Then they see something they want to buy has gone up price and they say what happened, why, what happened. Most people don't even know what monitizing the debt means or what it is....Many people are buying up the equipment they will need knowing that prices are set to raise and companies will start to disappear and you will not be able to buy it anyway, it just will not be available.

Also the EPA regs for next require the 25 -75 HP engines to be Final Tier4 compliant which means a good share of these engines will have electronic fuel injection and/or some type of exhaust after treatment adding quite cost so some manufactures are taking smaller incremental price increases now to avoid a MAJOR STIKER SHOCK next year when those engines come to production.

I have also noticed a price jump with equipment. I priced out a new 318D Deere skid steer (out of curiosity) and they wanted $33k for it and it was a very basic machine with very few options. I also priced a 326D in January from a different dealer for $30k, brand new like the 318D but i bet the price has gone up since then. What I also found interesting was my 317 originally sold for $23k back in 2006 from the dealer. I got my 2004 317 w/1040 hours back in January for 1/3rd the price so I will be sticking with the 317 for a few years until a 318D comes down in price or I find a larger machine for a good deal. :thumbsup: In the mean time, I am very happy with my 317, it is more machine than I expected and having that extra hp has come in handy. :thumbsup:
