This is a new site Kuobta just launched to help people with what tractor will suit thier needs. Try it out and see if it recommended the tractor you purchased! Let me know if it nailed or was totaly off.

Kubota Stories
The other site is where Kubota would like you to send them your stories about your Bota's!!! Fill out the form and they may contact you for pictures and more info and you may see yourself somewhere on thier site or elsewhere.

Looks good. Thanks for the links.

Shouldn't be long before the new 40 series info is up.

Not too impressed with this site...Kubota recommends a BX Series, a B30 Series, a Standard L Series, and the Grand L30 series. They didn't exactly limit me there. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Nice but, I think I can get a much better match through internet research.

A Grand L may do for me, but doing some more research will move me into the JD 5000 class or the new silent Kubota M class.

I say silent, because no dealer in my area seems to fess up knowledge on them. Yet.

I find it a little ironic that Kubota is now ASKING for stories and pictures from K users. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

About a year ago, the nice lawyers from K called me, after seeing my CaptainK_______a website listing a small side biz I started doing landscape jobs with my K. I'd put together what many of you considered a glowing endorsement and pics of K products and how I could provide a service to people with my K products.

K was right 100%, I was infringing on their name, and I promptly took the site down and stopped using the domain name I'd purchased, CaptainK_______a.com. (Don't look, the website's down).

I'm not bitter, but there's no way I will send them anything they can use without compensation. They can't have it both ways in my view.

But hey, I'm not trying to discourage any of you. Go for it if you want to. If they want some of my stuff, they can pay me for it.

The fine folks here, though, can have pics of any of my stuff FREE, cuz I love ya! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Totally agree.

Send them a disaster story about the Kubota and see what happens.

Big company, small minds. I bought the product, you wanna hear my story? It's for sale.

I believe that your tractor guide is not very good. I put in that I maintain or work: 6-10 acres

I want to hobby farm and/or landscape (please check all that apply):

Move light supplies
Lift and haul heavy
supplies
Maintain fences and
pastures
Field or roadside mowing
Grade, scrape or
move dirt / snow

I am interested in a
climate-controlled cab: Yes

I want to mow my lawn: 3-5 acres

I want to garden: I do not have a garden

I want a utility vehicle for: Not at this time.

I live in the: Southeast

The guide recommended a GR Lawn and Garden tractor, a ZG Zero Turn Mower, or a ZD Zero Turn Mower.

How am I going to connect a bush hog, a blade, or a front end loader to any of these mowers, and where is the climate controlled cab?

Although the guide, in my opinion, was at least half right.

I have an L3430 HSTC and a ZG-23, which take care of most of my needs. I think I'll stick with TBN, research, and my own analysis to determine the best equipment for my needs.

Well, after putting in my acreage (3-5) and that I wanted to lift and haul heavy supplies, maintain fences and pastures, do field or roadside mowing, and Dig or trench with backhoe, it did not hesitate to recommend a G series garden tractor. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif That will give me some ammunition in TBN debates on how big a tractor you really need. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

To be fair it listed as second and third choices the BX and B30 series...but I didn't know Kubota made a backhoe or rough cut mower for the G series. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif That is the exact same thing that it returned for me. I can't exactly see anyone using a BX for what I put in. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

5030tinkerer, I agree with you. When I answered the questions for my needs, I got four vague choices from a garden tractor to a Grand L. Come on, that's pathetic. If I was a first-time buyer, I would be frustrated.

Visiting this website is like going to the convenience store for something to drink and filling out a questionnaire determining my preferences: size of drink desired, ice or no ice, diet or regular, carbonated or non-carbonated, juice or fitness drink, regular milk or flavored. When I'm done answering the questions, somebody leads me to the refrigerated case at the back of the store. Well, duh! I was planning on going there anyway!

On the other hand, it could be a cleverly disguised market research tool. But I doubt it since it isn't detailed enough.

the first site is terrible,, I listed my needs and it came up with a ZD turn lawnmower,, Would Kubota please explain to me how a ZD can mount a backhoe? I currently have the L 48 model TLB, which does meet my needs for this property.,. I think Kubota has to add in many more questions in order to zero in better on a suggestion.

Yeah, I agree, this new tractor calculator is horrible. Maybe Kubota should check out Case's website - the FARMALL ADVISOR.

After plugging in the requirements, including the need for a backhoe, Kubota recommended a G Series garden tractor or a BX series, whereas, after plugging in as close as I could to the same info, Case recommends the DX29 or DX33, which is exactly what I would have surmised.

/ New Kubota Web Sites!!!! #14
just tried Case's site and it told me a DX48 with hoe... Now that is pretty close isn't it?

/ New Kubota Web Sites!!!! #15
Ok, I received recommend: Grand L, M40, M105S, and M125X.

I did check "no" to mow lawn and "no" to garden. So maybe the the lawn and garden conflicts with the other questions.

I went back and added mow lawn 3-4 ac and garden 1/2 ac and received the same recommendations plus it added the BX and B30 series.

After further review, and looking at their "Tell us your Story" site, I had to chuckle.

Suppose the guys that built their own skid plates on BX's posted pics of that, and sent them in. I bet they wouldn't show up in the slick glossies! With things like "Yeah, I was usin' my BX in the woods, and Three times now, I blapped the ***** cooling fan apart, so here's what I did to fix that".

Don't get me wrong, I love Kubota and my BX. It's a GREAT unit. It has and will serve me well. In hindsight though, if I could have searched for a small utility tractor and FEL, like a JD 2010 or equal, I could have a little more HP and invested a lot less $$$$. I'm fortunate that I live in the farm country, and utility tractors are plentiful around me.

I still keep searching, and if the right utility comes along, it might displace my bota..........................

I agree that the "Kubota Tractor Guide" could use a little work - it just recommended that I buy a JD 4720! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Stopped by Henderson Tractor and Implement in Lake Charles yesterday:

Picked up a new brochure for the new M-series tractors...very nice indeed. The salesman still doesn't know when they will be getting the smaller units. They already have the larger models, but haven't seen or heard anything on receiving the smaller models. One salesman noted that he saw a truckload of 5040s and 6040s heading west on I-10...maybe Texas??

Anyhow, check with your dealer for the new brochures.

I'm not sure, but I think they just recommended I buy three different tractors. One for around the house, one for the pasture and fenceline, and one for working in the woods. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
