New Kubota ZD 1511-72

I've got, prefer & will only have Rear Discharge Deck for my application because my grass is so tall & thick.

The Blade Tip Speed is almost identical I'm pretty sure.

I have 8-9hrs of cutting with a 72" Deck each week, weather permitting.

I studied Kubota, JD & Exmark extremely hard for over a year.

The Kubota is Far Superior & I couldn't be happier with mine = A+

I've had such an unbelievable experience with the 331 and only expect the 1511 will be just as great!!
We mow 100+ acres a week so when the grass does finally grow (snowing still rrrrrr) should know pretty quick how it's Gona be.

I’ve been trying to buy one since last October. Now dealer told me they might be having some overheating problems. The ZD1511 used same engine as the B3350.

I’ve officially called “calf rope” and will go with the ZD1211 with 72” rear discharge deck.

I also realized that my 77” x 12’ Utility Trailer is once inch to narrow for the Kubota 6’ deck.

The Kubota 6’ deck is 78” wide due to the tubular rub rails on edges of the deck. The ZD1211s and ZD1511s I looked at last fall had flat bar (about 1/4”) rub rails?

This is what’s on the ZD1211 at Dealer.



Maybe it’s a difference between side and rear discharge decks??

The SD decks has thick flat bar around them.
The RD decks has 1" solid round rod around them.
I'd think the RD is narrower than the SD ?

Only overheating I'm aware of is the DPF filter on the very first REGEN as per the diagnostic code indication. Actually, I was concerned about my 1511 running too cool according to the temperature gauge. Kubota tech said they run on the cool side as he was told by regional Kubota rep. Sounds like your dealer is trying to steer you towards the 1211.

Dealer will definitely steer you towards what he has instock & will downgrade models he'd have to order.
They don't like paying they monthly % floor plan on new inventory

My dealer was RIGHT on the smaller 1211 having plenty of power with the 72" RD Deck though.

With the thick grass I cut on the farm, I'd be waiting on the SD Deck to process the HEAVY Clippings & I don't have time for that mowing 7-9hrs each week.

I’ll pick up my ZD1211 tomorrow. My flatbed GN trailer is 83” wide. Dealer gave me a great trade for my JD Z820A with 60” deck.

I’ll look into a 12’ x 83” utility trailer soon.

I agree. Mine seems to run really cool. Wowed for awhile and lately left the warm mark. Just running it around the yard basically no grass to cut but blades were moving. Just picked it up Tuesday.
