I wonder if that tooth bar would wrap around the cutting edge and still bolt to the sides.

You got a picture?

That's the setup I'd want! Once I use the bucket with the bolt on edge, I'm assuming the only way those bolts are coming off are with the "blue" wrench. A tooth bar that can be installed and removed as needed and slides over the existing setup would be really nice.

Congrats on the new tool/toy!

Thanks buddy! I hope you know that seeing your pics sent me over the edge in making the decision. We love this tractor! Already pulled up two stumps at our house.

My dealer ordered a tooth bar for me, not the Kubota cutting edge. Slight misunderstanding. The price for the tooth bar is $432. I don't need one THAT bad. So I'm going with the Kubota edge for the added rigidity, but I may get a toothed bar in the future. If it fits over the edge fine. If not, I'll modify it or remove the Kubota edge. Now, onto buying implements for clearing our land. My poor checkbook!

Just something I thought I'd throw out there.
Out back in my dealers lot are several new or almost new, faded orange, pin on buckets. I guess when someone changes to a SSQA after the fact, the dealer buys the pin on from them for short money. One member said $100.
It costs less than $150 for a SSQA plate. Add weld on teeth, and you have a nice digging bucket. You won't need to deal with removing cutting edge bolts.
I guess the key is; Do you weld?
How much will the dealer sell the old bucket for?
If you intend on keeping the bolt on tooth bar attached for an extended period it wouldn't matter. If they are going to be on and off alot it will be a PITA.
Just my :2cents: Carry on.:)

I seem to do a lot of random projects around here with no one implement being needed for a long time. Often, projects need a little time with one implement, and it's done. It is an interesting idea though. Since the whole tractor thing is still new to me, I am still trying to sort out how to be most efficient. I'm looking at cutting a tractor access trail/road through some brush soon, and there will definitely be some trial and error experience that may give me some more questions and maybe even some ideas for what type of implement might be most useful.

Just took care of the first greasing of all 462 fittings on the loader and backhoe assemblies this week, and as of this weekend I'm only at 11-something hours on the meter. Notice that the hour meter doesn't count all run time at low RPM's, as I definitely have more than 10 hours run time. I've seen other people comment on that also.

As soon as I download some of the photos from the last few months, I'll have to post some of the work I've done.

Signed, A happy tractor owner!

I think one hour on the clock is measured with the engine doing the RPMs it would be with the PTO turning 540 rpm. In other words at PTO speed the engine does so many turns per hour, and that is one clock hour.
I know of a machine that is usually run at low rpm, and almost never driving a PTO. It is mostly used for grading a private road. After 5 or 6 years the clock read something like 75hrs.

Nice looking tractor. About how long is that with the hoe and Fel on? I'm trying to get an idea of how long of a trailer I'm gonna need.

Thanks

GORGEOUS TRACTOR!!! I have the same one except I bought the gear driven instead of the HST. I have 119 hours on it so far and its done perfect around my 6 acres of woods and 1/2 mile long driveway. I did alot of research as well before buying and I think I (WE) ha ha, made the best choice. That BH77 backhoe has been a life saver. I LOVE my L3200!!! Have fun on it.

Thanks, I believe it was your Youtube video of digging out a stump that was part of my research.

It's about 18'6" overall with the backhoe centered. I'm guessing you could subtract a couple of feet with the backhoe swung fully to one side. If you had the standard, non-SSQA bucket and no bolt on cutting edge, that would also subtract a few more inches. I've seen people transport with the loader bucket rolled forward too in order to use less space/balance the trailer. Definitely watch your weight distribution on the trailer. With loaded tires and a 1,000# or so backhoe hanging off the back, it might be tail heavy. That's a very bad thing while towing. I haven't tried loading it on my trailer yet, so I don't know how well it fits or balances. Someone else may have a better idea of the center of gravity. Depending on the axle locations and deck length, I wonder if it might be better to back it on the trailer. :anyone: Hope that helps!

ST98.....I have a 20' dual axle trailer (came with my purchase) and it fits perfectly without swinging the backhoe. It would definately be better to back it on the trailer (thats what I do) because that backoe weighs alot and the engine will be dead center of the dual axles...thus putting most of the weight towards the tongue where you would want it.
