New L3200 ! Sort Of.

Well I am a new owner of a pre-owned Kubota L3200! It had .9 hours on it. Yes .9. It was purchased in January 2014. I was ready to pull the trigger Saturday on a new L3301, when I got a call from a guy that I had earlier made an offer for his never driven L3200. He Bought the tractor new last January and it sat in his garage. It was started every month for a year inside his garage until he finally realized he would not be using it. He put it on craigslist, I made the offer and he turned it down. Then I call him to make another offer and he sold it. So he thought. The deal fell through and he called me back accepting my offer! It was 15 minutes from my house. We made the deal, I picked it up and I was an owner. Only problem was my 12' Dump trailer was 6" too short. I tied it down inside, closed the doors as much as they would close, tied them up and off I went.

Well after a long next day of looking for a trailer, I decided to re-load the tractor and see if there was a way to get the doors closed. Ah!, disconnect the Box blade and push it forward. It fit!
Off to my property I went to try it out and I realized that this is the best Toy/Tool I have ever owned! I had a buddy come by to give me a safety class on the tractor and I am so glad he did. A lot can go wrong in a short time on a tractor. Anyway, I got a great deal on a new/pre-owned Kubota and I am super excited. I spent 2 days on it and I got so much done that I can't believe I've gone this long without one. Here's a couple pics. Looks new. Of course it is!. Left front wheel bolt is about to fall out on the ground, or so it appears on one of the photo's. Be sure to check all wheel bolts/nuts and all of the loader mounting bolts. It is the dealers job to do that, but it is often not done. Check/grease all zerks, again dealer prep, but often not done. I hope you got at least an owners manual, if not you should buy one asap, and if you have the cash you should really buy a service manual too. Don't forget to do your 50 hour service, it is the most important one. Oil, and Oil filter, and change out the Hydraulic and Hydrostatic transmission filters, Grease the 3 zerks under the floor boards for clutch and brakes, the front axle zerks, outboard and inboard, Outboard zerk, gets square plug nearby opened and grease pumped in until it is starts to come out of the square plug, and inboard zerk gets 2 pumps and stop. Check front axle fluid, and main tank fluid (transmission) and replenish as necessary. I would use Kubota SUDT2, it is expensive, but worth it in my opinion. Also be sure to clean the air filter, and check fuel filter. If you replace or clean the fuel filter, make sure tank is less than half full before you open the fuel filter housing.

It is none of my business, but I am curious of what you had to pay for the machine.

Nice purchase!!! Definitely check the front axle level, mine was a quart low and others were even worse. Personally, I would not worry about changing the oil since it was sitting in a garage. Go rack up 40-50 hours then change it... :2cents:

Thanks Everyone. I will go through the entire tractor today as I put 6 hours on it already. Yeah he gave me the owners packet that included the owners manual, dealer checklist, warranty, ect. I think a shop manual is a great idea. It turned out the salesman I was dealing with on the new purchase actually sold him this unit. So I called him about the first service. He said it's around $600-$700 for the 50 hour. Ouch! I may just take it to the dealership for the first service anyway. I'm calling the service department today to get a real estimate.

I paid $17K for the tractor as it sits.

:shocked: WOW, that's a bit extreme. I changed my hydraulic fluid on the first change and cried as this nice clean oil drained out. The manual says to just change the filters since the oil is good for 400 hours. If you want to go over board, I would change the oil and filters at 2 or 300 hours... don't waste good clean, year old oil.

I did my first engine oil change at 40 hours and waited until 50 to do the hydraulic. Both were not that hard to do since the manual was basically step by step. I ended up writing in my manual the wrench size of each nut - so didn't have to guess the next time. I changed my engine oil again at 100 hours.

I just checked the tractor and it is on and tight. I zoomed in on the picture and it does look like it's falling out.
