New L3200 ! Sort Of.

Thanks Everyone. I will go through the entire tractor today as I put 6 hours on it already. Yeah he gave me the owners packet that included the owners manual, dealer checklist, warranty, ect. I think a shop manual is a great idea. It turned out the salesman I was dealing with on the new purchase actually sold him this unit. So I called him about the first service. He said it's around $600-$700 for the 50 hour. Ouch! I may just take it to the dealership for the first service anyway. I'm calling the service department today to get a real estimate.

I paid $17K for the tractor as it sits.

Check it out, but I would think you should be able to do the whole 50 hour thing for less than $200 yourself.. It is no big deal to do, and is a great way to become a bit more familiar with your machine. I done one a couple of months ago on an L3200hst for my BIL, because he has cancer and could not do it himself. But unless you are disable, you should have no trouble, We can offer free advice. The 17K with the implements was a good deal.. When you get some more money saved up you might want a grapple later on. I have the Everything Attachments 50 inch single lid as shown in my avatar. It would be a good fit for your machine.

A new tractor for less than new price is always a sweet find! Great machine for doing what you need done. Service is straightforward, and doing it yourself is a good way just to get to know your tractor. Follow directions, watch 4shorts and other's video on servicing Kubotas, and have some fun while you save money. Buying the filter kits online is a good way to save money, but the SUDT2 is heavy and costly to ship, so help out your dealer with that purchase. I would also consider synthetic oil, like this: Shell Rotella Full Synthetic 5W-40 Motor Oil, 1 gal. - Walmart.com.

I have a Landpride RCR1860. Owned it a little over 3 years and its been very tough. I have no complaints with it.

You and your buds should not have any problem if they are any kind of wrench turners at all. Working on tractors is usually a bit easier than working on modern cars. Sure some things might be a bit unfamiliar, but we arent rebuilding injector pumps here, just changing some filters and engine oil and greasing some things.
By the way on the last L3200 I did, I found a no.8 machine screw and plugged up the air vent under the seat. It looks like a shepards crook, and is made of rubber. This vent allows air to flow into the "tank" when you extend the hydraulic cylinders, and air to come out of the "tank" (transmission case) when you retract the cylinders and the fluid flows rapidly back into the tank.
The reason for plugging it up is when you change the hydraulic and Hydrostat filters, it will help prevent air from rushing in and allowing hydraulic fluid from escaping when you change out the filters. Be sure to remember to take the plug out before you start the tractor and run the hydraulics. :shocked:

On the engine oil, of course there are 2 drain plugs, one on each side of the pans with the front drive shaft running through it.. Also don't overtighten. Tighten yes, but don't overtighten them as I believe they are aluminum.
