Don't stress on my account! Thanks!

I stand corrected. There is no photo of mounted rear weights in the L series brochure.

FWIW, my tractor has 24" R4 rear tires with the centers dished out and the tires adjusted about 4 inches from the fenders. I have two weights mounted to each rear wheel. The weight pair fits completely inside of the wheel dish and does not add to the overall width of the tractor. Adding a third weight would protrude beyond the outside surface of the tire and become the first thing to scrape trees, etc.

You don't need a host to post pics.

When adding a post to a thread place the cursor where you want the picture to be located, look at the toolbar just above your typing. Fourth icon from the right, "insert image", click on that, select "from computer", click on "browse", find your desired picture in your computer, click on the picture, then click "open" in the lower right. That takes you back to the previous screen where you clicked on browse, the name of your picture will be shown. Just under that click on "upload". The data name of the picture will appear in your prepared post where you left the cursor blinking.

Thank you. It's time for me to learn anyway.

What's the weight per weight?

What's the weight per weight?

Each rear weight weighs about 103 lbs. Add a bit for the attachment bolts.

I change my own tires and use cast iron weights on all of my tractors because I have no means of pumping liquid ballast in and out.

So what happened with the Masseys? Did not work out well?

It's a long story that started in 2007.

I'll not go into the details here and now (some have been discussed in the Massey forum and the Buying Pricing forum in the past) but in a nutshell, I was treated very badly by BOTH Massey Ferguson and their local dealer after the sales. Yes, in retrospect, I should have known better than to buy the 2012 tractor, so must accept some of the blame. That said, because most of the issues had not yet materialized and I thought that those that had had been rectified, I decided to give both MF and their local dealer another chance. This was a big mistake. I've been around the mountain many times and have never been treated so badly as in this saga.

In both cases, the issues were much more with MF and their dealer than the tractors. Massey Fergusons are not Kubotas but I well knew this before buying either.

Never again.

Good photo.

Upon closer inspection of mine, I believe that even a third weight would not add to the overall width of the tractor. If it did, it would extend beyond the outside of the tire only slightly.

You would be fine if you have your rims set to the widest position like mine, there is plenty of room. I have the weights in addition to filled tires and right now I seem to be getting the traction and weight I need. I've considered a third set, but I'm just not sure at this point. Of course there is the added weight of the cab which I'm sure helps at least with traction.

And yes they are expensive, I lucked out on mine and my dealer ordered the wrong ones which were cheaper and he let me have these for the same price in addition to free mounting.
