new look for the NH tractor lines

This look is not new. The TG series of high-hp tractors already has the stacked lights. Looks like it is filtering its way down.

This is the NH Tier II emissions tractor. It should be hitting dealers this spring.

Incidentally, TG stands for Tractor Grande.
NH was forced to sell the Genesis and Versitile line, their former line of high-power row crop tractors. If you want a tractor that looks like the old NH try Buhler.
Personally, I think the new front looks like the new Cadillac.

The NH web site has the word <font color="red">New!</font> next to the TG line of tractors. So, I'm not sure when this new design was implemented. None of their other lines of tractors have the stacked headlights, so maybe the TG line is the start.

Burlington is the "Backhoe Capitol of the World" (self proclaimed I'm sure) and Case has been building hoes here for what seems like forever. Last fall they began producing the new landscaper TLB under the New Holland name, first time in the factory's history that a product rolled off their lines with a name other than CASE. The GM said he believed we would see additional products made locally under the NH name instead of the CASE name
As far as the new look for NH, I guess I'm in the minority. I like it. I remember when the Boomer came out, it wasn't well received in a lot of circles either. Same can be said about the Ram pickup when it was changed to the current style.
Oh well, times change.

I agree with you about the lights. You can never have too many. One point about the design, what does it cost to repair or replace the housing for the lights. I was doing some loader work using forks to move brush, when a stick punched thru the light housing. This stick cost me well over a hundred dollars in repairs, because you have to replace the whole housing. I think this is a poor design by Kubota! A sectional housing that you can replace individual components would be a viable option and lower repair cost. I hope these new model NHs' are built with this in mind.

I guess those of us that like it just took longer to respond. I like the looks of it and hope that they filter it down to the TC series pretty quick before I buy, of course I hate the new Chevy trucks - hate that I don't have one. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Guess I'm stuck w/ my '99 Silverado for awhile. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I guess I will have to say something on this. When NH first released the TG photos it took some time to get use to. However, the common thread is loader use. The TG does not get equiped too often with a loader. Certain farms do have the big 200 hp tractors for loader tractors but not many. The common loader tractor on a farm is the 150hp line which in NH's case is the TM line. The purpose of the lights is to illuminate the field, especially in row crops. The design is functional and just like most new, drasticly radical designs take some getting use to. Personally, I think it looks much like the Porsche tractors of old with the extremly rounded nose. I have not heard of any other tractors in the NH line rumored to take on this look in the future. Also, the original TG prototype looked like the traditional NH design but they wanted to set this apart as the flagship tractor in the new lineup. The biggest change I have heard for the rest of the line is possible decal changes to the new white/creme colored background on the hood decal instead of the standard black. Also added more colors to the decals to represent (in theory) the CNH lineup. But the TG's do not get fitted with loaders often. Maybe 1 in 200 would be a high estimate. Take care.
