you will not need chains with a blower, i use blower and backblade, never any traction issues.
Agreed, except in ice conditions.
I bought the hydraulically angled front blade with hard rubber cutting edge (asphalt) when I bought my
B3350 about two years ago.
I have two asphalt driveways, each about 900' long and both are steep, in some places very steep.
I've plowed these driveways with my
B1750 and back blade for over 25 years but always with F & R chains.
Accordingly, I bought F & R chains for my
B3350 and spent about 4 hours properly fitting them.
I had never plowed snow with a front blade prior to buying the
B3350 but quickly learned that tire chains are not needed and, indeed, counter-productive in such circumstances. The front blade with hard rubber cutting edge clears the snow on my asphalt driveways so cleanly, that the tractor tires operate on clear but wet surfaces. Any of you that have such experience know that tire chains produce MUCH less traction on hard surfaces than do tires without chains. Indeed, my
B3350 with chains would not plow 2 or 3 inches of snow (uphill) but had no such issues once I removed the expensive (both $ and time) chains. The chains were, however, very effective in removing the seal coating from my asphalt driveways, but, so is the front blade, hard rubber cutting edge not withstanding.
Keeping the chains as they have been closely fitted to the tires on my
B3350, but will likely never again install them.
Your mileage may well vary on crushed stone surfaces, and ice is an entirely different subject.
