Charlie,Timber said:Rob that was perfect timing, I am on vacation this week coming up and I have about 300 feet of fencing to do, I am going use my new PHD for the 1st time LOL
I have miles of fence under my belt but all done by hand.
Jim,jinman said:Rob, it's hard to tell by your photos, but I always mount my mailbox with the front lip about 1/2" lower than the back. That way any door leakage runs back out the front instead of flowing back and possibly wetting my mail. Does anybody else do that?

LOL yea my dad had a post hole digger, his name was Chuck, He wasn’t about to dig a hole by hand either. I’ll never forget the routine. He would mark the hole and say Dig it 12 inches round 36 inches deep with square sides. And dig fast before the water comes into the hole. One thing I can do is dig into the ground. Hear in New England if you take a leak you get a rock so I suspect I’ll still be doing a lot of hand digging. I have bars in all shapes and sizes so I think I’m in good shape.3RRL said:Charlie,
You're a tougher man than I am. I wouldn't dig a fence post hole by hand if you paid me. It's bad enough having to shovel the rest of the dirt out. And man, if you hit a rock and have to get a breaker bar to "chisel" it out of the hole you'd end up with deltoids like Arnold.
