New Massey 4608

TAFE has made great strides in recent years, don't disagree in years past there were issues. Keep in mind the 2600HD tractors were not TAFE built so we can't lump those issues into the smaller TAFE 2600s. The 4600s.....transmission quality and reliability, inability to resolve the steering issues, common rail fuel delivery issues, false error codes resulting in the tractors not starting, etc.. It seems fairly obvious Massey priced these units below competitors for a reason and to do so had relax on cost and quality. If you search units for sale it's interesting how many 4600s with 500-750 hours or less are out there in the market.

I hadn't been hearing about transmission quality or reliability issues... could you elaborate? I had heard about the Fuel Delivery issues and computer issues, and read that it was a Mitsubishi problem related to programming. I had read that the steering issue was the relief setting on the hydrostatic power steering and a fix was already worked out (is that correct?)

Quick search on tractor house of 2014 and older 4608, m7040, m7060, 5075e..4608 had less used for sale..John Deere having the most so by your logic John Deere sucks worse than Massey or Kubota.

Can you point me in the direction to these claims of people having issues with the 4608? I searched and can't find anything. I've found pleanty on the 2600 series which made me not even look at Massey when I first started looking for a new tractor.

And Massey isn't cheaper than Kubota. To begin with Kubota was about 3k less than Massey. John Deere was about 4k more than Massey. I'd have to say the major brand where all within about a 5k price difference. I priced Kubota Massey case new Holland and John deere

It has to be looked at as a percentage sold versus number for sale, not the number currently listed for sale on tractorhouse. Plenty more JD and Kubota sold than MF. The 4600 has an AGCO power engine, not a Mitsubishi.

My mistake ... I had read about a programming issue but it was in the 17xx series. But, I had not heard of any of those issues on the 46xx series.

I might eat my words one day..that being said.. I believe the 4608 will give me many trouble free hours but if it doesn't I firmly believe my dealer will back me up best he can..something I didn't feel I'd get from the other dealers I talked to and a few I've dealt with in the past. If I have any problems I'll be sure to post them.

You tell him to look how many are for sale on internet,he does, then when he comes back you tell him oh you gotta look at how many was sold too. Who has those numbers you? You have number every 4600 that has sold and then is for sale between 500-700hrs? It's BS,if you ask me can't go off **** guesstimating.I know someone that has every brand and all has had something,JD has had more recalls, cause I have to haul his tractor for him. You will find lots of 100 to 200hrs JD 50** tractors for sale on internet. A lot of low hour tractors are lease/rentals/dealer demos units on internet. How can you say every 4600 series tractor that is for sale between 500 and 700hrs is cause they have had an issue. My brother has the Mahindra 8560 and I rarely find one up for sale,I guess it's the best tractor out there, cause in there commercials they are the number 1 in sales.
