Hi all,

I am currently in the hunt for my first tractor. We are putting the finishing touches on our off-grid straw bale house that I've spent the last 2-3 years building. The house sits on 20 acres of woods and we finally have come to terms with the fact that we need to get a tractor if we want to build more out buildings and gather wood for our heat! Just not sure what we should get...

Where in Vermont are you located?

I highly reccomend (sp) Upper Valley tractor in Enfiedl, NH for a Kioti. Call Dave or Rob, and they will help you out.

I am looking to move some materials around my property including bringing firewood out of the woods and not necessarily whole logs but bucked and split wood.

I'd also like to do snow removal on my 500' driveway and eventually get a backhoe to do some light digging. I need to dig some piers for some outbuildings as well as a root cellar and some drainage trenches.

I'm looking at, 4wd, diesel, don't want to go big for the sake of going big. I'd appreciate your thoughts!

Your welcome. I would say that you probably would want something in the 30hp-40hp range. Have you looked at the John Deere 3000 series or the Kubota L series?
