New member looking for help, FORD 345d

I have a "66 4500 with hydraulic reverser & whenever it is cold, which it is often around here (-16F this morning), I have the same problem. I have come to the conclusion that the transmission should not have hydraulic or tractor fluid (Hyguard or equal) but ATF.

wrong! Fords run 134d hydraulic oil or equivalent in those transmissions, not ATF
