I personaly think the DS line would sell much better if the offered a HST option.
Kubota and John Deere offer HST in many of their economy models and they sell quite well.

No that was a typo. I had HST on the brain because I have been going back and forth but settled on the DS4110HS. The gear transmission is what I am used to and plus I will be doing a considerable amount of plowing and disc.

I really like the "no clutch" shuttle shift on it though. It is not available yet on the DK. It was real nice when I was testing it out with the loader.

Shuttle Lever - The DS series shuttle lever provides easy back and forth operation as well as faster reverse speeds. The DS4110HS has a hydraulic clutch pack inside the transmission. You can change your direction with only the shuttle lever without depressing the clutch. Simply shift the lever in the direction you desire to travel.

Thanks everyone for the welcome aboard. I will post pictures when it is delivered.

Obviously, the hardest part now is waiting for delivery...hopefully more EARLY next week than MID week. I will definitely be using a vacation day or two to "work" on my project.

Congrats on the new tractor purchase. Projects galore now. I will be interested in your habitat work. What do you have in mind? I use my little CK30 on old farmland, trying to make it a better place for deer and turkey.

I am sure you will find the hydaulic shuttle covenient to use. Took some getting used to, but after 300 hours I am glad I took the option. Congratulations.

I have 30 acres...with 8 of it woods. I am going to be planting a variety of trees, switch grass and food plots along with some perminent and temporary screening. I attached my starting point but I have a consultant coming out over Christmas so I am sure it will change.

Sounds almost identical to my situation. I have about 90 acres with about half in woods. Trying to change some pastureland into dense habitat area. Six years ago I planted some sawtooth oaks in one pasture. This year several were loaded with acorns in September, and the area has thickened up very well. Here are a couple of shots of the area:

Over the past year I have started and nurtured 250 sawtooth seedlings. These will be planted in part of a hayfield, and in the open areas of this pasture:

That is starting to look fantastic. I am starting a similar project on my farm. The prevues owner did a lot of cutting in the woods before he sold it and its in bad shape. I do have a question for you. How do you discourage deer from eating the young trees?
