Hey everyone. I'm checking in from the great state of SC. I got my GC 1705 several months back and I have to say, I just love that lil MF. I'm doing my first service and
with that said, I have a few questions.

What are some options other than using Permatran 821xl ?
I see where to drain the hydraulic fluid, but where do I add it? Is it 3 gallons or 4?
What are hydraulic filter options, other than AGCO.
Is 80-90 good enough for front axle?

Who has installed a turbo on one of these lil MF's ?

Thank you and God Bless America

All this information is in the manual..

Why would you want to install a turbo? You're 1705 has enough power to perform the tasks that a SCUT is designed to do..

I suggest spending some time reading through a lot of the threads in this forum, most all of your questions have been answered in the past.

About a turbo, it痴 entered my mind too but I don't know if anyone has done it. Most owners of these tractors seem to use them for lawn mowers and just don稚 have a hotrodder痴 blood in their veins. I think adding a turbo to this little Iseki engine would take some serious engineering work. Most normally aspirated Diesel engines have a higher compression ratio than turbo壇 engines. Packing more air into the cylinders is very likely going to result in high combustion temperature and holes in pistons. To do it right would likely require special forged pistons. And then there is the bottom end, does it have enough strength to handle more power? Maybe it does, I don稚 know.

Not to be negative or discourage you but it most likely would end up being a very expensive and time consuming project. But it痴 your money and time.

There was a thread awhile back about getting more power by adjusting the injector timing or some relatively simple mods compared to adding a turbo. Would not gain nearly as much a turbo though.

Why would you need turbo.... On my GC 1715, I can have 600 lb ballast on rear and bury blade of FEL into ground and in low range (turtle) and in 4WD and rear diff lock spin all four tires.... Why would I need more horsepower I run out of traction long before horsepower.... More horsepower is just going to dig me into deeper holes, faster....

I use CASE brand oil for engine and transmission. For the filter someone once reported NAPA now carries an OEM brand for the GC. Not sure about the front axle but I never changed the fluid in mine.

As for the turbo, Im assuming you are enquiring about this because its something you want to try. But seriously-for the size of the tractor and the implements you can use due to size you really never need it. I have a 60inch Woodmaxx snowbower and never needed more HP on the PTO.

If you can make it cost effective then why not right?
