This seems like a good place for me to jump in. I recently bought a MF 1235 4WD and love it. I have been using it around our new home construction site and will use it to tranform the land around the house to a yard. I have been reading tons on this site and every time I have a question, I find a thread that covers it in the archives. Thanks for all the good info!

I was loving my tractor until I checked the oil level last week and it was about 1 gallon overfilled. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gifI took it to the dealer I bought it from and after leaving it with him and it being taken to the main dealer am still waiting on the answer. The people I have spoken to say its the rear main seal out.The tractor is 2 1/2 years old and only has 135 hours on it. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gifThere trying to figure out the problem and see if they can correct it without it cosying me? /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gifQuite a shock to think my tractor is already broke down and I still make payments on it.One good thing is the coporate headquaters are near my home and I financed it through AGCO and will visit them if its not fixed under warrnity.Alot of pressure to pay for repairs when you send them a payment and can't even use your equipment.I hope it all works out,any body with any helpful info let me know. Thanks Smitty

Hi Smitty there is no way it is the rear main seal if the engine block is over full it can only be two things it is form desiel fuel or water desiel fuel could come from a bad piston or ring or an injector pump over fueling or a bad injector as for the water it could come from a number of causes but it can be determend very easily if they know what they are doing
PS: I did take it for granted that you are talking about your engine haveing to much oil and there is one other posibility if the oil in the oil pan has no water in it and there is no sign of fuel than it could be that some one just over filled it or it was not on level ground when you checked it let me know what you find out also what ever they try to tell you is the problem let me know I have all the micro fiche on the Massey tractors so I could look it up and se if what they say could be true

smittyd, heard anything on your tractor? My guess is the seal in your hydraulic pump. If so, trans/hydraulic oil will be down. Pump is gear driven, mounted on front of engine. If so, it should be relatively inexpensive fix and I'd think any reputable dealer would quickly take care of it and apologize for any inconvenience.

LWH and 28 Thanks for the welcome.Well the story on the tractor was it was a little over the warrinty period and it was arear main seal that was pinched and no fault of mine. But I had to pay $750. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gifafter all said and done, was quite an ordeal and no love from the dealer, just pay /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gifThe man I bought it from will never get a penny of business again.I bought over 20 grand of equipment and treated like scum.No help and never will I buy from M/F or any AGCO .I had it fixed and moved on!But next time my business goes elsewhere /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
