New Model at New Website

i changed mine last fall. the original one came apart the first summer, melted off the top off the battery (i think we posted that incident). we went ahead and brazed the part back on to the muffler, but it still sounded much louder.

in consequence, last fall when Charlie, Sedgewood and i were down in Tazwell i made the most inexpensive purchase of the group .... the Tazwell/Kohler replacement muffler. it sucks in cold (cooler) air on one side an releases less hot air on the other. it is built like everything else from pt like a tank and around $75 dollars cheaper than Kohler.

i am not sure, but the wrapped up muffler picture (on the new site), of the 2425 seems to be one at least in concept. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

when i was at pt looking at the 422 i saw it had the old muffler and they would put the new one on if i buy the 422,plus terry said it had the good coils. so it may start once and a while.
the knowledge i gained by reading this form helped me save the aggravation you people went through!
i allready have my mag. heater, battery charger and a torpedo heater,i'm ready!! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I am really pleased to see that PT has introduced an even lower cost tractor...I'm sure the PT-180 will sell quite well...it costs just a little more than a large riding lawn mower from Lowes or Home Depot, and there's simply nothing else in it's price range that can do what it can do. Bravo on the new release! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Well, with temps in the high teens, you won't need any of those starting aids on the 422 /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif...no opportunity to test at lower temps yet...

My 422 and the few I saw at Tazewell were the tranluscent poly tanks, but the web pictures showed steel(?) I was thinking the poly replaced the steel...or...maybe steel is commercial(425) and poly is "homeowner" 422.
Maybe johara1 can spot the tank trend on his upcoming visit....

Shopping tip: Write every little question down in a little notebook BEFORE you go, because when Terry (or whoever) starts talking you're going to be all ears & eyes... /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

i will check the tanks out as well.i think what we are seeing here is old pics used on the new page.check the new hood on the 180 it looks like you can put gas in it with out lifting the hood.
if you click on the engines they all show the same engine,a robin with the old muffler.

Yep the general consensus for us gear head Power Trac & Power Trac wan-a-bees nerds (I'm including myself in the later category) is the web site is a great improvment......but they are missing a link to the TBN Power Trac discussion board. I'll bet this discussion board has sold quite a few for them, probably more than they know.

Another thing it looks like our 5000th post will be here in no time.

Actually, if you look on the Links page of the new PT website, you'll see they've included a TBN Power Trac forum link...

Power Trac Links Page

Nice to see they've acknowledged the popularity of this forum! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
