New old truck

That body style came out in the '72 models. I remember seeing them at the State Fair of Texas. They were very nice trucks. Dodge was also the first to have an extended Club Cab pickup.

I thought IH had there crew cabs earlier than that.

1957 IH had a 3 door

The 1961 IH C-120 Travelette would be what I would build if I won the lotto. Everyone has a old Chevy or ford. Lot fewer dodges; but the International Harvester are unique.

I wonder how easy it would be to swap in a latter model, such as a 47RE or 48RE in to your truck. Bolting it up would probably not be that big of a deal but getting the electronics set up might be a problem. I'm sure its been done by a least a few people by now.

A 47RH is a very straight forward swap since it is electronically controlled but I'm sure a 47RE or 48RE would be possible. I should look into it since a friend of mine has a 48RE out of his 06 (he bought a used unit, built it, and then swapped it in).

The 47rh is hydraulically controlled, lock up and od can be achieved with a potentiometer and a lock up switch, I have a lock up switch in mine and have been considering a potentiometer for better OD control as far as shift point is related to vehicle speed.

I'm talking about a two door extended cab pickup, not a crew cab. Dodge came out with their Club Cab, Ford followed with the Super Cab. GM didn't start making one until '88.

Yep, I meant to say hydraulic instead of electronic. From what I've seen so far it looks like ats makes a controller if someone wanted to swap in a 47/48RE.
