Tractor
None at the moment
Hi everyone I am the proud new owner of a slightly used 2011 BX25. I have a question, what is the recommended rpm to run the tractor at. Also While doing research on this tractor everyone questioned its ability and if it was big enough. I will weigh in here, I love mine, works great and has plenty of power, basically if it fits in the loader it seems to lift it. Anyways thanks for the help guys and a picture for the " Pictures or it didn;t happen crew"

Welcome to the forum. I enjoy my BX-25. For motoring about, I run it at 2,700 to 3,000. When I'm running the backhoe, I bring it past 3,000. I'll give ya a heads up. Have someone cycle all the backhoe controls while you watch the hoses. After about 6 years, one of my hose sprung a leak due to rubbing.
Enjoy the new machine.

I run from 2500-3200 depending on how hard I am working it and if I need all the power or not. If I am mowing I run the RPMs up higher so I get the mowers tip speed all the way up but otherwise run it a bit lower.
Enjoy your new machine.

I don't have a BX25, but I do have a BX23 and a BX2660. When I'm running the backhoe on the BX23, I usually run it full throttle to maximize the hydraulic flow. The BX23 doesn't have a tach, so I don't know what the RPMs are, but it's over 3,000 I'm sure.

On my BX2660, I'm usually between 2,500 - 3,000 unless I'm mowing. If I'm mowing, I crank it up to 3,140, which is the RPM required to run the PTO at 540rpm.

After looking at your pic, I have one question: Aren't you kinda young to be driving a tractor? ;)

Seems he is pretty good at computers and typing for his age so driving may not be that bad.....

I run mine at no higher speed than I need for the job at hand. If it works at 2000 that's my speed if it takes max speed, it goes there. Things like bush hogs, wood chippers, and rototillers need to run at max throttle to keep the tip speed up for max results. The BXs are made to run at the max but why do it if a lower speed gets the result done in the time you want it too.

The being young part is fine, I was young once, and can show cave drawings to prove it!
I think he will have a tiny problem setting the brake though!

I'm with tractor Seabee though, I run it at what it takes to get the job done. Using the MMM I normally run 2700-3000 rpm, the backhoe is normally around 3000. Plowing snow? How deep is it sets the speed.

Good luck, I know you will enjoy it, of course, you DO realize that now the young'un will have a lifetime fascination with tractors??? Good job!

He IS a really good driver. I sure couldn't handle mine doing a wheel stand like he's doing in his picture. And he show No Fear, all the while.

Thanks for all the help, my daughter in the picture is still a little small for driving, but she can run the backhoe if that helps fellas.
Loving the tractor, already has a coat of wax and all new grease

True that, Check, but it was a trick photo designed to confuse us!

If there had been a rear view mirror, and she were checking her makeup/putting on mascara, THEN we would have known!

I seem to run mine lower than most who have posted. Rarely much above 2500rpm. BH gets a little jerky for me. Maybe I need to bump it up and see what the difference is?

I run around 3200 most all the time. Seems to be the magic number for me, my machine and use.

I run mine the rpm for the job. 3100 for mowing, probably 2800 for backhoe work.

I guess I'm gonna have to crank her up tomorrow. On it for a half hour today using the BH to finish leveling for some pavers and a free standing fire pit. Again by habit I set it at 2500 today. Ground so hard I was sliding the tractor around on the stabilizers.
