>>Mitsubishi

We have a 1626 also, very happy with it so far.

Oh nice! I have a 1538 that is a Mitsubishi. It’s been a good machine. 38hp. I assume this one is 26hp. That will be a nice size. I think the only thing I gain with extra HP is weight and I can drive up my driveway a bit faster. Since I don’t have PTO implements I don’t think I really use the extra HP.

Congrats on the new toy! I also have the 1626h and absolutely love it. Just turned 65 hours and have loved every minute of it. I have noticed a tiny leak around the oil pan. I致e read about it multiple times on this model. I doubt it would be a problem, but I can稚 stand a leak on a brand new tractor. So, I will be taking it back to the dealer when I get a chance.

In regard to the water getting into the tranny, did you see obvious water come out when you drained it? My original hydro fluid was also 殿ntifreeze neon green? I was a little confused, but apparently the dye is added to certain brand hydraulic fluids to help identify leaks. I work for an asphalt company and our foreman told me that most of our new equipment is coming with green hydraulic fluid now. Looks just like a coolant leak out on the road.

Hi fairfax yes its a great tractor for me so far.when you say leak around the oil pan where exactly fo you mean? Ill keep an eye.
I am glad to hear you say your colour was the same. I still believe there was water because it was dyed green but also had a sort of white milkly look in some parts of the fluid ( like there was different liquids in it) i will post pics. I can tell my tractor sat for a while based upon the rust around the gas cap and rust around the tranny hole. Also battery terminals have some corrosion. So far with the new fluid my shifting from differemt ranges seems to be alot easier. I am going to change out the fluid once again after doing a seafoam treatment. it is too bad because itbis costing me and extra 300$ or so in fluids but i am **** about fluids and plan to keep the tractor forever so dont mind spending the extra tp baby it. I will post pics of the fluid. Also i am up in canada where condensation and temp chages all the time.

The service manager said the fluid was a weird colour but agreed that this did not look right. I have been texting him all the steps so it is on record if i need any warranty.the only thing i am a little concerned about is possible rust in the tranny which i will inspect at the 50 hour service but i am not overly concerned.

The 1538 look like alot of fun as well. I had a max25 before and a massey gc1705 but like the saying goes you always want bigger. I am very inpressed at how well the 26hp can move the machine making it a good work horse. I researched and shopped around a ton but nothing could compare to mahindra value. The specs alone made mahindra a no brainer for me and i was able to get a good deal allowing for more implements and a trailer.
I spend a few days moving heavy wet pules of dirt and it was impressive what u can move in low gear. The dirt piles were frozen one day and i was able to brake them up. The weight is perfect for me as i need to be able to cut some grass but also want to be able to do heavy loader work/ landscaping. And as a plus my tractor is covered under my home insurance but would be if a bigger hp. just with the work so far i am glad i didnt go orange because with such less loader capacity it would be limiting.

The difficulty shifting ranges is common on HST tractors. You need to relieve the tension in the gears of the transmission so you can move the shifter. Have you ever tried to take a vehicle with a standard transmission out of gear without using the clutch while parked on a hill? You pretty much can't due to the pressure on the gears from the weight of the car and the hill. It's the same with the HST tractor. You're trying to move the shifter without a clutch.

The easiest way to do it is while on level ground you slightly press the forward or reverse pedal and let off while applying light pressure on your shifter. You might have to try a few times until you get the hang of it but its pretty easy once you've done it a few times. If you try to force the shifter you WILL do damage to the shift forks in the transmission that will require significant effort to correct.

The same can be said for engaging or disengaging the 4 wheel drive. Do not force the handle. Once the tension is released in the gears it will pop in or out very easily.

We considered a 1538 but the larger size was just a bit more than we needed and wouldn't fit in the garage. It was tempting though. Price was about the same.
