Hello Folks,
Nice to see the dedicated Deere owners.
I just purchased the 4310 today after looking for several months, e-pwr revers, 4x4, 300 loader. Out the door for $17,800, this seems to be a fairly good price from what I've seen on here.
I'm wondering if I need to be ready for any unforseen problems or tricks with the e-pwr reverse trans?
I've only had the straight manual trans in my old Ford.
Thanks,

Not at Deere owner, but you will love the power reverser transmission. Congratulations on your purchase. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

As long as it's serviced "by the book" and allowed to warm up on cold days I would expect no problems whatsoever. What you've got is a manual transmision with a hydraulic clutch where the clutch is actuated buy a couple of proportional valves. Reading through the service manual, it's a sweet setup. Becuase it's "electronic" it's setup to protect itself, if necessary, from the driver.

Over 2000 hours and not one little problem with the power reverser.

Congratulations on your new toy. Remember rubber side down.

I find it easier to remember by associating it with the simple rule for putting in sod.

Always keep the green side up.

The only problem I have had is when I go to back up in my truck I turn the left blinker on.

When I am lifting something heavy up high with loader, I prefer the 12f/12r over ehydro because it is more steady and predictable for balancing tractor in risky positions. The foot throttle rocks when driving into a pile of dirt or gravel. I have the 4300 with430 12f/12r and 4200 420 with ehydro.

Congrats, I have the same trans and love it, although I don't like the gear spacing for finish mowing. I occasionally get too frisky flipping the reverser lever directly from forward to reverse even though there is a strong neutral detent. You might want to keep the clutch engagement speed switch in the slow position until you're really used to it. Otherwise, it is a great setup. Have fun...

Appreciate all the good advice and help here.
It's nice to feel welcomed into a new site, that's a change for a newbie.
I hope to have some good feedback myself after tomorrow.
It should be at the house when I get home in the morning.
Thanks again,

Has anyone purchased the extra light kits for the John Deere's?
The ones that go on the bar above your head.
Thanks,

I bought the front facing lights from Deere that mount on the signal brushguards as well as the rear worklight. The front facing lights are plug in and help greatly for after dark snow plowing. After I got them you could really tell the difference. The rear work light splices into one of the purple wires that feeds the front facing work light with a 10 cent connector.
Lighting plans for this year include adding another work light to the rear and putting the rear lights on their own waterproof toggle switch. As the tractor comes wired the front and rear work lights come on and go off at the same time. I use a three point log splitter and don't need the front lights on.

Well, before today the only tractor I've spent any time on was our 1951 Workmaster (gas).
I can't believe I waited this long to get on a JD. It was about 35 degrees this morning when they arrived at the house with it, me and my 3 year old didn't get out of the seat for atleast an hour. I'm not sure who was the most excited, him or I. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
We are expecting 2 to 4 inches of the white stuff here in South Carolina (nothing like some of you have alread gotten), my boy can't wait to get out in it on the big green machine.
Thanks again,

Dblbeard,

Let me know how you like it. I am more than a little jealous. I am getting ready to get the same setup. Only difference may be the 430 loader. Did you get the 300X or the 300CX loader with yours?

I am really interested in how well it will pull a blade.

Sorry it took so long for me to get back, I got the 300cx loader. So far I really like it. I'm really not sure what the differences are between the 430 and the 300's, I really didn't have any experience with any other loaders to compare mine to.
