Weather was nice yesterday and I got a little riding in. Managed to get a few pics. Nothing great but gives you an idea of the kind of riding I use my Ranger for.






This is looking up a pipeline. I recently completed a trail that comes out about halfway down it. Not real steep but it leans right pretty hard. Fun to fish tail up it.






Thought I would test the suspension a little on a rock.











Playing on a creek bank. Pretty steep but I believe it would go right up it if there wasn't a drop off on the other side

I got to ride a little this weekend as well. Put about 15 miles on it Saturday. I cut my first little trail through the woods. Also, got to use 4x4 switch. Got a little too confident and decided to cross an innocent looking wet stream. Front went in and wasn't too bad, but the back tires went in and sank up to axle. I stopped and hit the 4x4 button. Front wheels started spinning and went no where. Luckily the fronts had enough a bite on the bank that in reverse it got the rear out out of the hole. I just sped through in reverse and she came on out. We had a blast though.

The stock tires dig great in my opinion. I have had no traction issues and rarely use 4X4. My property is steep and nothing but red clay. My Ranger has as good of traction as any atv I've ever owned. That said, if you bottom out the skid pan or axles, your going to get stuck. I haven't done this yet but have only ridden on my property and so far have avoided areas I'm likely to get stuck.

The creek bank was pretty steep. The trail leading down there is no joke either. I videoed the ride down but decided to keep both hands on the wheel on the way back up. All those leaves makes things pretty slick.

Glad you made it out of the water hole without needing a pull. Time to get a winch!!

So far I really like the stock tires on the XP. They're very aggressive for hill climbing. I've been able to go up some steep places in turf mode alone. There's not any tire that will help if you've bottomed out on the skid or axle. But I haven't really mudded any. Can't speak to their effectiveness over any other tire in the mud.

Wish I had taken a picture of the gulley I went in and came up out of. I was aimed at the sun driving out. I only tried that once. Little too scary for me, but just wanted to see if it would do it. Really impressed so far at where this little truck will go! I also put it to work hauling some hay for some trees we'd planted. The dump bed came in very handy.

A winch would be nice!! Might have to ask Santa for one.

I didn't really take many pics, but here's one of last weekend while we were re-planting a little oak that the deer had destroyed.

I agree about the stock tires. I've been contemplating what I'll put on it when the stock tires wear out. The more I think about it, I'll most likely stick with stock or very similar. May go up a size, but not sure. Part of me wants a little bigger and part of me wants to leave well enough alone. I'm approaching 300 miles and they don't appear to have worn much at all so I've got plenty of time to think it over.

I haven't mudded any either, and honestly don't know that I will. Hopefully I'll eventually be able to take it out on rides but even then I'll likely not sink it it any unnecessary mud holes. Just play around a little and enjoy the ride.

A winch is on my short list of accessories as well. Just so many things to buy for it, I don't know where yo start!

By the looks of how many people upgrade to bigger wheels, I'd imagine stock tires could be picked up cheap, but who knows what the sizes will be by the time these wear down.

Same here, I see mud and I see hours of cleaning. I've already decided I'm not going to worry myself to death on keeping it super clean. Maybe give her a bath twice a year max.

Thanks, it's my grandparents old home place. It's a retired pig, dairy and beef cattle farm. My brother and I bought it from the family few years ago and we really enjoy it as a hobby. Good excuse to get outside and play on tractors, loaders, rangers, etc

After owning the 900 for a while now, have you had any issues? Made any upgrades? Found anything you don't like? Etc?

I noticed yesterday while riding around, I have over 400 miles now and 53 hours I believe. No issues, and still really like the machine. I did recently order some mud guards for in front of my rear tires. After taking a 43 mile ride on muddy gas roads a few weeks ago, it took the better part of 2 hours to get the red clay cleaned up. These guards should keep all that mud at bay. I won't ride In places like that often, but every now and then I do like to get out and cruise these dirt roads.

Haven't received the guards yet but I'll post pics and info on them once I get them installed, in case anyone would be interested.

TnWV, I've been pleased with it. No issues yet. Just performed the 25 hour break-in oil change couple of weekends ago and gave it an inspection and bath. It was then that I realized I want to fill in the voids under the bed in front of the back tires. Probably the guards your talking about. I'm gonna make something when I get time. I'm not putting many hours or miles on it. Will be taking it to the farm this weekend while we bush-hog. It's been great for chores. I hauled several trailer loads of brush the other day that I'd have needed the tractor for otherwise, but I was using the tractor to pull the trunk of the tree. It's come in handy for several other things I wouldn't have thought. Now that I'm out of the break-in, I'm looking forward to making some rooster tails with it this weekend.

Haven't added any accessories except the back windshield in addition to the front I had installed when I bought it. Would love a Duraclutch, but just can't justify the money for it. My biggest complaint would be the drive train and how the clutch engages, but it's not a big deal as I don't use it daily.

Would love to see your guards. My boss's dad bought an XP900 just after I bought mine and he's added mirrors and the front axle guards. So far he's had no issues either except for getting it out of park when parked on a hill. I haven't had much of a problem with that.

Sounds like you use yours for the same tasks mine does on a normal based. I'm always hauling tools and such around.

I'm with you on the clutch. It's a little "clunky" at times and that is really my only complaint. I'll change it out when funds allow.

The guards I bought are powder coat diamond plate. If I had thought, I would have bought a sheet of Diamond plate and made my own. I will be doing that for under the bed as soon as time allows. I can't imagine why they didn't make that area smooth. After my muddy ride, I'll be putting guards in a lot of places over time. I hope to get the guards and have them installed this weekend. I'll post pics when it happens.

Glad to hear you aren't having any issues, I have a couple friends that have them now and they aren't having issues either. Seems like a solid machine so far.
