A most common reaction of our better halves. I don't know whether it is the deceptively "homely" look of the PT or ?something else. In my case, the lovely Mrs was lamenting my not purchasing some orange colored tractor, Ku... something or other, with a nearby dealer. She is beyond it now, fortunately.

Congrats on your purchase. You'll really enjoy what it can do to help you with all manner of projects and even small tasks.

You're in a lovely area, John Brown's raid, great apples, etc.. We get up near there a couple of time a year to Summit Point for our car racing.

Hi Tracdoc,

yes this is a very historic area rich in civil war heritage. I'm from Leesburg VA only about 30 min from here we are just across the Jefferson county line. Downtown Harpers Ferry is about 20 min’s or so.

We moved here about 2 years ago to get away from the crowding; now the building boom has followed us out this way. We are nicely tucked away on the mountain though.

Yes, the Orange Machine. I have a dealer not far from here. I was curious and called to ask about a USED BX series with FEL before purchasing my 180 he said 11,500. I said See Ya. Nice machines, but for the size of my property can’t justify that kind of money.

I am so glad I got my PT. I think it will do anything the Bota will do and more. I got out and played with it yesterday for a little while. It was fun watching people coming down the road. They would stop, and watch wondering what the strange green Beatle looking like beast was crawling around my front yard.

It does do a lot of whining sometimes almost sounds like a brake is stuck on. I am assuming that is the nature of the beast and is just the way the hydraulic motors sound.

Only seems to do it when I going very slow or turning when I speed up it stops. Have not had time yet to check and see if there is a emergency brake adjustment fluids are fine. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Well I see after doing a quick search on this forum my whining noise might be a clogged hydraulic filter.

Anyone else dealt with this. I know nothing about hydraulics as of yet. I am a fair wrench though. I may as well start getting to know this tractor now. Bleeding the unit looks like a lot of fun. (Not) any advice appreciated.

Yes i do that sometimes too.... er i should say my 422 makes that sound, I'm pretty sure it's the typical hydraulic whining sound we're hearing. You can always call Terry up and check with him.

I was just wondering if the post times that are displayed are they local to the person posting or are they show the time local to the person viewing. The reason im asking is Barryh's post say 3:46 a.m. I remember getting my PT and getting up pretty early the next morning to look it over better before work. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
