For now I am going back out to stand in the driveway and wait for the delivery truck as I have been doing since 11 this morning when I faxed the order and wired the money to Tazewell. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Way to go. I envy the higher lift and the torquer wheel motors. Have fun CJ because I know you will and let us know if you have any trouble.

Great!! You won't be sorry!! Be sure to check out the improvements that have been suggested here on TBN, which will make your PT even better!!
Be careful and have fun!!

I'm confused. You say:

"Well I have finally gotten off the fence and ordered my tractor."

But you are getting a post hole digger attachment. Why get the post hole digger if you already have a fence?

Just in time for the holidays! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Congratulations! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Be sure to have some fuel ready for it when picking it up, as they ship them almost bone dry. Just a gallon should get you going OK.

Go easy on the foot pedals in forward AND reverse and have fun. And remember to keep all the loads down as low as possible and that the center of gravity changes dramatically as you turn the unit. Have fun and let us know how it goes... /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Hearty congrats, and welcome aboard! What a great Christmas present.

I'm confident that you will thoroughly enjoy working with your machine. As everyone has already admonished, proceed slowly as you learn the quirks of these great little work beasts. Watch those treadles, especially reverse, and always shut 'er down when you dismount, particularly during the "honeymoon."

Get some pics when it's delivered. We love to see pics...

Well, I had to come back in from the driveway, it was getting to cold out there +16F now. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
Thank you all /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif for the information and honest opinions of what you all have seen and done with your PT's. I hope to be able to add my experiences to the wealth of knowledge I have encountered here. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
I called Scott @ Power Trac and he said they had my order ready to go except for the forks... /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif Said they should be completed this afternoon and ready to go on the truck tomorrow(Thursday). Which means I probably won't get it til Tues or Wed next week. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
I will try to get some pictures of the packing/shipment when I go to pick it up. It is being sent to a shipping terminal about half way between where I live and where I work.
once again...
Thanks for sharing all the experiences. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Hope to be a contributor soon. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

That's because the fence at this point is just a pile of post and wire. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

The anticipation is probably a reminder of waiting for Santa when you were a kid...except at least then you knew what day the goodies would arrive! Welcome and good luck with the new toyz.

Welcome to the PT family CJ. If I had been paying attention to TBN posts instead of making arrangements to go to OKC for Christmas I would have welcomed you sooner (no pun intended). We were in the Bethany area the week of Christmas. Incidently I'm probably one of the few TBN'ers who've been in Piedmont, OK. I worked on a road construction crew just west of there about 18 years ago. My wife's grandfather graduated from Piedmont H.S. but that was a looooooooooooong time ago. I hope you're lovin' your PT . My only complaint has been I wish it were better on hills....a problem that shouldn't come up as often for you as it does for me here in E. TN

I'm fairly new myself.. 422 middle of December .. anyway it was said before watch out for reverse.. What are you using to pick it up? I almost flung myself off the little enclosed trailer I rented a couple times and backing out of the trailer a delicate operation was quite scary.. so heed the caution.. I'm getting used to the treadle but still thinking about adding a spring under reverse or the bands like someone else showed.. good luck its well worth it..

keep a foot on each side, /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif use the opp. foot to counter the direction /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif no quick unexpected moves then!!! the weight of the other foot serves as the spring and learn to keep your heels on the floor when it's rough going. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

That's exactly what I do as well. You do get used to it. I only have 15 hours on mine so far but I am very comfortable with the standard setup. No need to modify it. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Welcome. And like others have said keep both feet on the treddles and apply pressure to the direction you want to go and just leave the other one rest on the other treddle , it just takes some getting used to.
