You are exactly right about the wife thing lookin' over the shoulders, while us working men are trying to engineer things like they should be.

About two months ago, on another forum, was asked about a couple of accessories and prices from another member. We'll, doing the friendly thing, I replied with $$$$ figures. Made a mistake and walked away from the computer with that on the screen. Wife walked by, turned into a monster, she said that I said, " this stuff don't cost much for the RTV " .... My reply, I was talking about other equipment baby ~~~~ the " SILENT TREATMENT "
kicked in ~~~~

Ever since then, when UPS truck delivers to my work shop, she's on the spot, helping to unload and " just to see " what supplies has come in ~~~~
Women are something ~~~~~~

put the winch on today. went with 4000lb venom kit. kit came with mounting plate and grille guard.at the delivered price of 212.00 it was nearly 500.00 less than 4000lb warn kit so i had to try it. did a few test pulls and it seemed plenty strong.hopefully it will hold up over time. anyone out there have any experience with a venom winch?

cj4,
here is a picture of the winch. you can't see much of the winch because it came with a grille that replaced stock grille. haven't put it to extreme test but it did fine pulling some small trees out of the trail. bighorns still haven't made it in yet, now they are on back order.also found out today that rear mesh screen for the rtv won't be in until first of april. found the winch on ebay. searched polaris ranger, found several pages of winches. it was 179.00 for the kit plus shipping. 4000lb venom with steel cable

Just ordered the Venom 4500lb winch......heck it was only $200 + shipping of $36 so I can't lose much. I just hope it's not too difficult to mount.

cj4,
i hope you have good luck with the winch. the bumper has to come off to attach the mounting plate. my contactor had two holes that matched up to two that were on the top rail under the hood so i didn't even have to drill any holes.
